Howdy!
Just a little computer issue☹️
I signed in from my iPad ok, but when I try to login from my iPhone, it asks for Authentication. I have Microsoft Authenticator on the iPhone, but CFF login never accepts the number.
Normally, I select to receive an email authentication, but today it is not sending the authentication email, no matter if I reboot the iPhone or not.
Do I need a different Authenticator, or is the CFF email authentication busted?
Thanks!

I tried to PM @amnesia and @Jeppo. While the PM recognized their addresses in the To:line, it couldn't find their addresses to send the memo. Made me think that there are more issues going on than just the Authentication email system.

@amnesia Could it be a cookie issue?

Try clearing yer history and trying again.

Log in on the ipad and redo your authentication. I see no email issues with the server. I would recommend duo authenticator and do not recommend email as a 2fa since that is where most of the hacked accounts start from.

@amnesia,
I wiped out my Authenticator settings. When I added DUO, it produced a code, but CFF didn’t agree. I got the “Oops, something went wrong” alert, even though DUO was still counting down at the time.
Next, I deselected Email Verification. When I tried to re-select email verification, it said that it sent me an email, but I never got the email. No Spam, No sent to a folder, etc.
I did this while logged in on my iPad Air.
If you uncover whatever dumbass thing I may have selected, please advise.
Thanks!
Kerry

Can you not disable multi-factor altogether for CFF in the site settings, then remove it from your Authenticator, and start over?

@amnesia,
DUO is now working. Backup codes work.
Email still says it is getting sent, but I don't receive it.
I'll be good with the DUO and codes.
Thanks!
looks like its TWC blocking the email. I just did several tests and mine came through on gmail.com

This is becoming a real problem. If you’re not using one of the big name email systems, you get blocked. Doesn’t matter if you’ve got all the proper DNS entries, DKIM, a good reputation, etc. I’ve run my own email server on my own domain since the mid 2000s, but I’m about ready to throw in the towel and let Proton host it because so much of it gets blocked.

Yeah - I'm even using AWS simple email service will all of the correct dkim and dns entries, good reputation. The next step would be to upgrade to a dedicated IP but that will only move the goalpost and not fix the issue.

My proton.me account gets refused by some places when shopping online.

Can you forward all your Spectrum mail to the gmail address?

use protonmail.com instead of proton.me. Its because most older tech uses regex patterns where it has to be .com/.net/.org/.edu
