I thought it might be helpful to create a list of the various PCC manufacturers/models since some of them are not well known and when looking to buy it's nice to know what your options are. Since I know of a few and have had several I'll start, everyone please add to the list when possible. I'm sure I must have left some out. Let's please keep entries inclusive, no need to list every variant of a particular model. Due to my obvious bias however, I have chosen to include only removeable magazine models. Anyone who wants to list single shot or tube fed lever guns, etc.in revolver calibers please start a separate section for them. Also, since there are several companies making AR-15 based PCCs now we could make a separate section for them also.

Currently Manufacturerd

AR-15 PCC (generic) Includes PSA, Lone Wolf, JP, etc.
Beretta CX-4 Storm
CZ Scorpion
Hi-Point x95
Just Right Carbine
Kel-Tec CMR-30 (arguably not a PCC but has all the qualities)
Kel-Tec Sub 2000
Kriss Vector
Mech Tech upper
SIG MPX
Thureon Defense Carbine
TNW Aero Survival Rifle

Not Currently Manufactured

Calico Liberty
Feather AT9
Marlin Camp Carbine
Ruger PCx
Taurus CTG29

Calico liberty 9mm carbine. How can you forget the 100 round magazine entry?

I thought about it, but for some reason remembered it as being 22LR. Added.

Would the Sterling, Suomi, Thompson, and PPs-43 count?

What about the UZI? Mac 10? Both with rifle barrels of course...

While a stretch what would you consider the inland 30 carbine pistols?

I believe Vector still makes the Uzi in fullsize, mini and micro. I purchased my mini from Kelly Enterprises.

There are numerous MAC clones like Masterpiece Arms.

Similarly there are numerous HK clones.

To the CZ Scorpion or Skorpion (depending on your part of the world) there is the new EVO 3 or the original v61 in .32ACP, .380ACP, and 9mmMak

This was just announced this week. Nordic Components is bringing a multi-magazine (Glock, M&P, ect) and multi-caliber (9mm for now) PCC to the market. The magwell is modular ($150). I'm hoping for a .45APC upper that feeds from Glock 21 magazines.

Holy overpriced plinker, Batman.

The price tag is in line with a JP Enterprises GMR-13 and GMR-15, which it will be directly competing against for market share at the top end of the PCC carbines. It's not for everybody's budget.

I was thinking on limiting this to just carbines that were designed specifically for the commercial PCC market, not neutered SMGs. Thoughts?

Wilson Combat AR-9

So it's becoming obvious that as the OP I'm not going to maintain this list, at least as often as others would like. I hadn't given any thought to listing every AR based PCC and every neutered machine gun, and it has been an eye opener as to how many PCCs there really are.

Therefore if anyone wants to copy and paste the list here or in a new thread or start a new list and maintain it please be my guest! I doubt I'll update this one much more.

I would add Rock River Arms LAR-40 and LAR-9 although, magazine availability (and price when you do find them) sorta make them impractical for all but "listing" purposes. But, they do run flawlessly . . . 100% reliable as are the Colt 9mm AR's

For anyone just jumping into the PCC area, hard to go wrong with a KelTec, esp. if running the same caliber as primary carry gun is a priority. Excellent choice and direction for travel, etc. Add a white light and make sure everyone of age knows how to run it and KelTec SUB2000's can be indispensable for defensive purposes in hotels, long distance driving, backwoods, etc.

great thread!

I would love to see more pcc choices that use beretta 92 magazines. I like the keltec and would like to pick one up. The cx4 is ok, but some AR choices other than the wilson would be cool.

There's the Chiappa PAK9. It looks like garbage. There's also their M1 Carbine clone that takes 92 mags, and is actual garbage.

yea i dont have much faith in the chiappa offerings. I know glock mag carbines are always gonna rule the category but i i am a beretta guy. The cx4 is clunky and ugly but a good shooter. The m1 carbine is an awesome idea but chiappa is meh. Id be happy with being able to buy a stripped lower and build or even a mag block setup to put in a standard lower. But i guess i am in the minority since none of the big companies make something.

I really like my CX4. I'm not thrilled with the stock sights or thumbhole, but it's so darn compact, reliable, and fun to shoot, I tend to overlook it's faults.

Its just fugly. I have a 90-two which has the same design cues and its a great gun, just fugly. I think if it was flat top all the way across and you added flip up sights it would be better. I have seen them modded that way. Maybe I need to give the cx4 another go.

I'll never buy another Chiappa. Several years ago I picked up one of their 22 uppers. it would fire out of battery. Often. I sent it back and although their service manager sounded concerned and helpful at first and led me to believe he would turn it around immediately, days dragged into weeks and he quit taking my calls. Finally got the replacement and the fixed sights were so far off they could not be zeroed. At that point they had disconnected their service number and the only way to contact them was through their website and I never got a response.

Crappiest products and customer service I've ever experienced, and this is coming from a man who has owned several Kel-Tecs and Tauruses (Taurusi?). :)

I think the CX-4 is awesome looking. I had one once and liked it. Crappy trigger though.
