Here we go again...she introduced one in 2017 that went nowhere, but we all need to be aware the effort has been renewed.

Here is the Bill link...summary and text have not yet been posted. 28 co-cosponsors, 27 D and 1 I.

I am sure a similar bill will shortly be introduced in the House as well.

Make sure your Liberty Teeth are ready for action when the time comes.

This one includes “pistol type braces”

There is a small statistical thing that many people overlook here ...

The AR platform has been the fastest growing platform in the past 20 or so years. I can’t remember the source but it was estimated that since 2000 over 8,000,000 (that’s million) AR’s have been sold. The sheer numbers mean there is more of a statistical chance one will be misused. Years back criminals used revolvers and shotguns because they were the most common type of firearms and thus easiest to get their hands on. Now semiauto handguns are far more available and thus the criminal’s pool to grab from is heavier on the semiautos.

On the surface at a glance the increase the left whines about of “military type” weapons might appear to be true ... but if by some miracle all AR’s, AK’s and other ones called out in the AWB disappeared the criminals would just go back to good old revolvers and pump shot guns and that rare unicorn hotel sniper type will pull out a good old bolt rifle with hunting scope and be more surgical than spray and pray.

This AWB type surface BS only addresses what is seen by the ignorant who do not look deeper and understand the problem is not what is used but who is using it ...

Good point, but statistically, how often are AR's even used in crimes?

Article from 2014...
But in the 10 years since the previous ban lapsed, even gun control advocates acknowledge a larger truth: The law that barred the sale of assault weapons from 1994 to 2004 made little difference.

It turns out that big, scary military rifles don’t kill the vast majority of the 11,000 Americans murdered with guns each year. Little handguns do.
This politically defined category of guns — a selection of rifles, shotguns and handguns with “military-style” features — only figured in about 2 percent of gun crimes nationwide before the ban.

The largest part of crimes using a firearm still falls to handguns (which I don’t like to point out to often to the left) but like any statistical numbers the “use of ____” percentages can be manipulated if you phrase the hypothesis correctly so the math comes out to prove it. This is just a possible example ... the number of crimes using an AR has jumped by X% in 2000 to 2016. Looking back in 2000 there were so few AR’s which were more collector owned while stuff like TEC-9’s (a pistol) and such were way more prevalent so AR’s usage was just a blip. Fast forward to today with the dark alley market most criminals use to make that blip jump a huge amount ... but still not the major piece of the pie BUT the left still will say something like ... when 2016 is compared to back in 2000 when the ‘94 AWB was in effect crimes using assault weapons (their usage of the term) has just 500% ... using just the right number they can probably prove it mathematically but they will also not report the fact that violent crimes had dropped half over the same period.

Using kinda sorta similar logic and statistics ... someone who wanted to could argue we should ban Honda Civics because more people under 25 die in crashes than any other vehicle. Civics meet or exceed safety standards but just because the sheer numbers of them out there and that young drivers tend to drive them because of various reason allows the numbers to be skewed if a person wanted and stated the hypothesis in such way.

  • Prohibits the transfer of high-capacity ammunition magazines.
Screw that.

If one of my fellow citizens is running low on ammo and I have a spare that's filled to capacity, you can be damned certain that I'll toss (transfer) the magazine to them when they shout out for ammo.

  • Bans the sale, manufacture, transfer and importation of 205 military-style assault weapons by name. Owners may keep existing weapons.
  • Bans any assault weapon that accepts a detachable ammunition magazine and has one or more military characteristics including a pistol grip, a forward grip, a barrel shroud, a threaded barrel or a folding or telescoping stock. Owners may keep existing weapons.
  • Bans magazines and other ammunition feeding devices that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition, which allow shooters to quickly fire many rounds without needing to reload. Owners may keep existing magazines.

Well, now...idn't that nice of them to allow us to retain possession of OUR OWN F*ING PRIVATE PROPERTY!

What are they going to do when a good number of folks, in EVERY state, follow the lead of those folks up in NY a few years ago and tell the 'rulers' to go stuff a stick in their asses?

Bet they ain't thought about that yet...when people, whose number is greater than they could ever hope to imprison or kill, tells them, "Nope".

One of these days you and I are gonna sit down and have some lunch (on me)

If a few of the gun grabbing liberals had just 1/4 of the knowledge we have on this forum of ballistics, capabilities, techniques and such of firearms in general AR’s and such along with looking at the reports showing criminal usage would not be where they’d start on gun bans and such ... it’s more media and Hollywood perceptions that make these idiots make their stupid assumptions and statements.

Then again if the gun grabbing idiots would actually get it thru their thick skulls criminals do NOT abide by these laws so they not doing one bit of good ... in fact their are actually going to make some good law abiding citizens into criminals because we won’t follow their stupid gun control laws. They might see enforce laws on the books regarding the use of a firearm in a crime and not plea them away or parole them out.
