Anybody own or use the B5 stocks?

Looking at a Bravo to replace a MFT Battlelink Minimalist on an 18" rifle.

I like the MFT on my SBR and have been also using one on my multigun rifle. But, miss the cheekweld of the magpul STR I used to use. But it was heavy. So thinking the B5 might slot right in the middle and be perfect.

I have moved to the B5 grips and love them. So thought I would give the stocks a look.

Any opinions/comments/low blows welcome!

I struggled to get a decent cheekweld with mine. It works but I took it off in favor of a STR. That said I have gotten to the point I use a plain jane A2 stock on most of my rifles.

I have a B5 Bravo and I love it. I compare the Bravo is to the SOPMOD as an ACS-L is to an ACS in terms of cheek weld

I prefer the ACS-L (I also have that and an ACS) and the Bravo over the SOPMOD.

I feel like the SOPMOD (and ACS) kick my head at too much of an angle. Over time on the range behind the gun my neck starts cramping

I like B5, a lot. I love LMT SOPMOD. Best stock I have used.

They look identical; what's the difference in the B5 and LMT SOPMOD?

I have the SOPMOD and like it ok but last year I got one of the BCM gunfighter stocks and seem to prefer it now over all the ones I've tried.

That would be awesome man.

Where you at?
Warrenton NC. I am about 95% sure I still have the stock. I am slammed tonight but I will search the random parts bin tommrow evening and let you know something.

Cool, no rush at all. I really appreciate it.

I got one of the BCM Mod 0 Gunfighter stocks on a lower I bought a couple of years ago but just couldn't fall in love with it. PM me if you're ever looking for a backup.

Have to agree with 11B on this one, would take the ACS-L over Bravo or Sopmod.
Everyones different tho so take these guys up on offer to try out b4 buying.

The LMT I was issued had the battery compartments, so the 'tube' was a bit bigger. My B5 is the base model and doesn't have it.

I meant the B5 SOPMOD and the LMT SOPMOD. I thought you were comparing those two

If they're at the bottom of a dry well in his basement it's worth every minute of whatever happens next
Two currently on built rifles and the third on a completed lower. But after I go shooting this coming weekend it may be a while before I go again, so easy to take them off for trial.

I don't even have a basement, or at least not one the authorities know of...

I'm sorry, I'll put the lotion in the basket

The B5 is a "clone" and less than 1/2 the price. It can be had here for under $40 shipped. This is from where I purchased mine. https://www.armsunlimited.com/BCM-B5-SOPMOD-BRAVO-AR15-M4-Mil-Spec-Stock-p/b5-bravo.htm

One thing that I experience, on some milspec buffer tubes, there is a bit of wiggle with the B5. Most people don't care, but I know it bothers some folks. However on some tubes I've tried it on it is super tight.

3 of my goals are: better cheek weld, lightweight, and snug. Gotta be beard proof.
I also want the QD socket where it is on the Bravo and sopmod.

The Bravo is cheap enough that I may just order one. But my extension on this rifle seems a bit small, which might nesessitate buying a new one.

I am trying to not go full tard and buy this despite the weight, lol:

Thanks a lot for the offers y'all!!

I've owned both the LMT SOPMOD and B5 Enhanced SOPMOD stock. Got issued the LMT version first in 05' down range. The B5 Enhanced model is a licensed copy made for Uncle Sam. I've received both recently using the same NSN in Kuwait/Iraq last year. I find it a very comfortable stock in the cheek well and shoulder. Got them on several of the guns here at the house.

Man that is a pretty piece. Also over a pound lighter than the PRS.

That's the reason I got rid of my B5. It was very wobbly on my Daniel Defense buffer tube.

have a couple of these. great cheek weld and fit very tight on every buffer tube (milspec) i have put them on.

Probably my favorite "general purpose" stock.
It's my new favorite. I prefer the standard over the wide body SOPMOD

Check out the BCM Gunfighter SOPMOD

For some reason, I have always thought these were ugly/clunky looking. But I have been warming up to them.
Form follows function I guess. I'll check one out.

Before you go the XLR route - check out the Luth-AR stocks. Way cheaper and just as much adjustability.

I really like the Magpul fixed rifle stock, but may go Luth so I don't have to switch out the buffer and tube.
