I have one of the above. Hasn't been fired much but it is a bear to open. I've had it up for sale but I think I'm going to keep it. If I keep it I am going to chop a link or two, one at a time, off that mainspring. Is there a reason for that spring to be so strong or do the Russians thing they should make everything in the mold of the T-34?
 
I ve got one of their coach guns, it's a beautiful gun, but it's the same as yours,tough to open
 
Bear in mind that it's not just the tightness but it cocks on opening which adds to the required effort... But you knew that...

I had a Baikal 12ga 28" SxS hammer gun that I got in West Germany back in 88'. Left full barrel was very hard to cock the hammer back, had the Rod and Gun send it back to get worked on. Exceptable after that, wish I still had it. Took lots of small game and a coyote with it (out turkey hunting).
