Every google search indicates that the "skip" field tells the radio that the freq should be skipped while scanning, default is blank.

WTF goes in there if you want it skipped?

While I'm here, anybody have a good sample file for a 8900r?

Good question, I don't scan with my Bfengs. Try an X

If using CHIRP it shows up as an "S" in the img file

If you're using Chirp, when you click on the cell in the Skip column, it should give you a pull down option, which is S or blank.
