I've got the Bark River blues baby! Blue C-Tek handles that is! LOL!

I can not wait until winter. Wanna put these bad boys to work.

The biggest knife is the Bush Seax in A2 steel.

The medium one in the middle is my favorite knife on the planet, the Kalahari Bushman II in CPM-3V steel.

And the smallest one is the Gunny in A2 steel.

I love the Bark River blues!

I used some of that last year on a knife and didn't really care for it. It seemed that even after it's polished I could still feel the alum honeycomb and it felt a little sharp.... but that's just me...

Yep. Wyatt and I are the opposite. We are kinda sad when we can't feel it. We like it because we CAN feel the honeycomb.

Beautiful AND grippy. But like you say, to each their own.

I'm gonna get on a Kirinite kick soon. I can feel it coming. They are pretty and smooth. I'll probably shoot for fancier on those, may get used a lot less than looked at.

Kirinite (being a resin material) is tough to work with, it burns and smears easily under the buffer. I tried some once but didn't like it too much.

It's too bad you couldn't get that worked out. I think Bark River has it down pat.

Tell me that ain't purty! LOL!

In a 1970s bowling ball kitch pimptastic kind of way! LOL!

Matter of fact, they do make some bowling balls out of kirinite.

Is the yellow and blue a Gunny as well?

What is the model that has a similar shape but seems a little bigger and has a lanyard loop/glass breaker dealie on it?

The one above is the Bravo-1.

I THINK the one you are thinking of is the Bravo Vortex. I think.

I hope we can make this happen. I need a hatchet, CLA and a bark river.

@thrillhill I'm not familiar with the Bark River knives but have looked at the website and like what I see. I typically do most of my skinning and deboning work with my Moras, but may be looking to get myself a Christmas present here shortly. What can you tell me about the quality of these knives compared to some other popular brands? Thanks!!!

They are my favorite semi-custom knife making outfit. I've used them to clean deer, pigs, and snapping turtles. The turtles can be hard on a knife. To me the heat treat on their A2 and 3V is as close to perfect as you can get. I can do a turtle or a pig and sharpen by stropping instead of using stones.

Their warranty is second to none. They have an option called "the spa treatment". The spa treatment costs $15 (according to them that is only to pay for return shipping with insurance). When you send one in for the spa treatment, you can have it cleaned, polished if you want, and sharpened. But, on that same trip back, for no further cost, you can have them modify the steel. Make it 2 inches shorter. Jimp the spine. Grind the bevel higher. Take off the ramp. Narrow the blade. Whatever your preference is to customize and personalize your knife. It's an awesome service option.

I love Blind Horse/Battle Horse/L.T Wright knives. I love Fiddleback Forge knives. But, for using in a homestead/farm type setting, I feel I get more capability for my money from Bark River than any other knife I have ever used or owned.

Exactly the kind of info I was looking for!! I really like the looks of the Mini Fox River and the Kalahari Bushman knives. I'll have to get by your shop and look at a few. Thanks!!!

Kalahari Bushman and Bushman II are two of my favorites. As a matter of fact the Bushman II is my favorite knife I own, period. And I own a more than a few. Both are VERY competent when it comes to cleaning animals. Neither would be my best "tactical" type knife, and maybe not even my first choice for bushcraft type situations. Maybe. But cleaning critters. Oh yeah!

The Fox River series does get a lot of love from the bushcraft/hunting dual purpose crowd.

I was taking some pics for the Bark River FB page and didn't really realize how many blue handled ones I had accumulated.

I've had to let a couple go since first posting this thread. But gained a few more.

Bit of a "blue theme" this morning.

Blue handled Bark Rivers, revolvers that come in blue boxes, blue bullets, and yes, some blue bottles.

I've never particularly thought that blue was my favorite color, but who knows. Works for now! LOL

You sir are a man of impeccable taste.

Used to be a time when the membership here knew he was the knife and blade guy here. What has become of CFF? :(

LOL! Yeah. To be fair, I haven't posted a lot here lately that wasn't related to revolvers or bourbon!
