Does anyone have any recommendations for where I can have a barrel chopped and threaded? Preferably in the SE NC area but can drive a couple hours if need be.

I know you asked about a local place but I only know of the place that I had a barrel cut down to 16.5", sight moved back, and threaded. Not local but he dd a fantastic job for a very reasonable price.
Here is a link to his site. Very highly recommend if you don't find what you are looking for locally.

I think it was around $100 to cut the threads and reset the front sight and $15 for the thread protector. I disassembled the pistol and sent him the barrel via the mail. It was Rob who did the work. I stopped in before this and he was working on some pretty cool side-by-side SBS's and other NFA items that were one offs so I sent it to him based on some other recommendations from the "old site".

That's about what I expected. I just want a bolt action cut from 22" to 16.5" and I figured I'd get it threaded while I'm at it. I'll give them a call thanks.

Rob at Clayton Guns did a fantastic job. I got it back in 24hrs and paid $100. @tod0987 thanks for the recommendation.
