Looking to do something different in this bathroom "IF" I buy this house. Nothing major really just want to take out this bathtub and do something in that space but the window might complicate things. Any ideas from the peanut gallery of what would be cheap and easy to do? My original thought was closet now I'm thinking small linen closet and just a space that is open from window to toilet.

Is this the master bedroom bath or a common bath? If a master you could put a small make up desk and mirror to keep the wife’s stuff off the sink area and a bench under the window that has shelves or a flip top for linen. Upholster the bench to make it comfortable so she enjoys it when you do her toenails.

Water closet. Never understood the appeal of having the crapper out in the open like that.

That is kind of what I'm thinking. Just cap off the water and drain take out the tub and box it in. Maybe with a small section of shelves on the left for towels. This might not even be a thing that happens at all if I buy the house. I'm just thinking ahead of the wife's 10k bathroom renovation she would probably want.

Oh lord you wouldn’t believe all the renovations in our master. It was renovated when we first moved in with floor tile, shower tile, vanities, and mirrors.

Last year for 53 weeks the jacuzzi was taken out, new floor tile again, new shower tile of greater special type, new plumbing fixtures, mirrors framed, new tile in the walk-in closet, fresh paint. Just a small under $15,000 I think. I never got involved and was told it was funded by her so stay away (which I did). New free standing soaking tub which has never been used with pretty free standing faucets. I don’t even go in there because I thought it was a want instead of a need. I took over the hall bath next to the master. Downstairs bathroom shower has been used once in 15 years. Welcome to America where wants rule needs.

I read just today that "master bedroom" and "master bathroom" are racist terms. I knew y'all would want to know that for future reference. Carry on.

Mistress bathroom can get you in trouble too.

Maybe it's not as funny as it sounds in my head, but.....

So think ahead and put in a stripper pole and make her earn the $10k...$1.00 at a time. :D

Where on the house is the window in front of the crapper? I can see you having some interesting hidey-ho-neighbor type conversations if it is some place like the front porch.

My customer didn’t put bathroom exhaust fans in the house she is going to flip at $310,000. Each has a window. That’s a no for me to open the window for exhaust of moisture in the bathroom and a no for evacuating feces odor. I guess that’s how she made so much money. Me, that would be a deal killer because I understand that’s a red flag for other items corners were cut.

Mine just vented into the attic when I first moved in.

Mine were the same and they were buried under at least 24" of insulation. Only reason I found it was because we decided to make some improvements and fans were one of them. Nothing like being thigh deep in fiberglass.

That’s more common than people realize. People add fans in older structures yet do not vent them outside the attic. Bathroom fans were not required for smells. They were for humidity exhaust from showers and baths. By venting to an attic space it will rot the interior ceiling and roof wood,

First house i bought actually had an attic. having them put in a roof vent for the bathroom exhaust instead of just laying it on top of the insulation was one of my easier demands.
