I’ve got a hsgi cobra belt with the interior Velcro and a padded belt inside of it. I have my holster affixed to the belt with a bladetech teklok drop offset arm. When I go to draw the holster wants to move and it seems to bind the gun up not letting it come out smooth. Is there something out there that’ll keep the holster close to my thigh thus keeping the gun from binding? I would think a thigh strap would work but haven’t seen one in my Google fu. There is a hole near the muzzle end of the holster that appears to be in the correct place for such a contraption.

I dont know exactly what it was, but Lena Michulek posted something about a strap goes around your leg then attaches to the holster (just like you said). Ill see if i can find it somewhere

Thanks I'm open to other ideas too. If I need to get a different mounting setup that would be fine too

Personally, I hate the Bladetech D/O attachment. It cants the gun in towards my leg and makes for a difficult straight upward draw.

I use a Stoeger BOSS. I also have an Ivictus hanger, and it works well, too. They are more rigid and can be set up more vertical.

The BT D/O works well for women because with their hips it tends to line up straighter. I would use the options I noted or with that rig likely mount holster straight to techlok, then belt. And practice a smooth straight draw and make sure holster tension isn't too tight. Just my opinion, hope it helps.

A VERY rigid belt helps a lot, too. It's critical.

The belt is very rigid I think it’s a factor of the cant the drop offset puts on the gun and me trying to draw straight up causing the problem. I wonder if a non drop offset attachment will let the hood switch work properly?

Unfortunately my holster is made for blade tech attachments. Looking back I should of done something in the rti realm.

The RTI wheel has multiple slots. It may work with your three screw blade tech attachment.

You can try a longer screw and shimming the lower hole in your current rig. I've done so with moderate success.

Options I haven't tried: The bladetech duty drop attachment is longer and the lower hole will be bolted to it increasing rigidity.

Invictus and Springer also make drop and offset hangers.

It appears that your thumbdrive would work with no offset being smooth on the inside and having built in offset from the holster shell.

another vote for gcode. the gcode rti adapter might just do the trick.

I have a few different setups and all are some combination of gcode holsters/hangers and hsgi belts and pouches.

I have the gca200 (optimal drop) and the gca30 (duty). I personally prefer the depth of the gca200.

Based on your setup Id recommend the gca200. it will sit tighter to your inner belt. get a little bit of velcro with adhesive backing and apply to the inside of the belt loop part so it will mate with your inner padded belt. The gca200 also has a little bit of a cant to it but nothing like what your blade tech has.

or

you can move the spacers in the tek lok so the top of the belt sits tight in the top of the tek lok, sandwich a small piece of hook velcro inside and lock it tight to your belt then again add a piece of loop velcro to the back to the tek lok to mate with your inner belt. this will keep the whole thing from moving around when drawing. Could also use some of the rubber donuts that blade tech ships with most of their kits to shim the lower screws where it attaches to the tek lok.

So I removed the drop offset arm and it is much better. I may try to convert it to RTI with the accessories that @Climberman has suggested. Thanks for all the help guys!

I run a Safariland UBL in conjunction with a Safariland QLS system with a T. Rex Arms leg strap. Works great. Here's a link to the strap: https://www.trex-arms.com/store/thigh-strap/

I need up ordering and RTI wheel belt adapter and the RTI hanger #39 universal kit with the Blade-tech hardware kit. Thanks @Climberman I didn't know they made those! @Teacher Thats exactly what I was looking for. If the RTI kit doesn't solve my problem all the way I will get on from them and try to fit it to my rig.

So I got the RTI stuff in yesterday and got it all mounted up today after going to lowes and getting some longer machine screws. The ones they sent weren't long enough. Seems to work well. No slop and the draw is at a great angle for me the gun no longer hangs up. Thanks @Climberman and everyone else for all the help!

Was using the search feature and came across this old thread. I am in the process of trying to find a holster for my belt set up right now and while I would really like to use a Safariland holster, I am having quite a bit of difficulty finding one that works. I have ordered a couple 6354do models in the past and have sent both back, because they don't lock in with an RMR. Supposedly they fixed that with the newer models, but I just tried one and it would not work with my Glock 19 and RMR. I am thinking that I might want to try the 6390rds model since they are supposed to work with most of the popular pistol mounted red dots, but my other issue with Safariland is that in order to run it on my "battle belt" I need to use a drop. I had a mid ride drop with the QLS system on this last holster I tried and it was very uncomfortable; the bottom of the drop dug into my thigh.

I was, and still might, abandon my search for a safariland altogether and go with a G-code OSL and mount it with their Optimal Drop RTI wheel, but this thread got me wondering if a Safariland holster on the G-code RTI drop would work and be comfortable?

I run the same type setup with my HSGI, loosening your holster helps quite a bit, just don’t loosen it to the point of non retention.

You run a safariland with g-code RTI, or a complete safariland setup?

Plus the adapter posted above should work for you. The new drops have the cant adjustment now so I’m getting one soon. Also I love my 6390rds. It’s a solid choice for sure.

I just meant have you have had any problems with the 6390 holster digging into your leg with the safariland drop that it come with?

Oh I got ya sorry. I run it currently on an rti wheel with no drop. It’s fine but just a bit high for my orangutan arms.
