What actual belt do you use? ATM I'm using a condor outer padded belt that I like. But I'm using a cheap cobra style inner belt that I hate as it comes loose easily. Can you recommend a good inner belt? Thanks

Also are the high speed taco mag pouches worth the $$?

HSGI padded belt works well for me. Have suspenders for it but rarely use them because the inner padded material grips your pants well and slides very little.

I have the hsgi with cobra buckles and the neoprene padded inner belt. Love it and the tacos. Might upgrade to the g code taco style mag holders they seem nicer.

I got a fancy 1.5" belt with my condor outer belt and it was too narrow. On a lark I got a 2" "tool belt replacement belt" at Home Depot for $5 and it works great. No operatoring, but I have had to wear it all day at a few classes and run around and stuff and it's done ok. Wouldn't mind some suspenders though because with 3 AR mags, 3 pistol mags, G34, flashlight, 2 smoke grenades and a dump pouch full of mags and loose ammo it gets droopy after a while.

I'm using some double stack pouches (pistol on outside AR on the inside) and they suck:

When these finish falling apart I'll invest in better gear.

I got this holster (for only $30 when I ordered it, apparently it's gone up):

It actually works really well. Super easy to release the retention during the draw but keeps the pistol in there when you're rolling around on the ground or whacking it on barricades trying to move around.

I’ve had decent luck with a condor battle belt and a SOE belt. I use suspenders with mine, because I am a hefty lad.

I've got a whole setup of HSGI equipment and it works great! Way better and more comfortable than my issue gear!

OK I'm going to amend this and say it's now NOT working great. This last class it kept slipping and the belt would get loose. lose? sell? sail? you get the idea.

I lost some weight, and about 2" around my waist. The belt seems to have taken a 'set' at the old adjustment point and nothing I could do during this last class would make it stay at the new set point. I would adjust it and an an hour later it was flopping around again back at the old length. Not the end of the world but frustrating none the less.

In any case another $5 belt with no memory and suspenders are the next steps here. All that junk gets heavy after a while, wouldn't mind some of the load coming off my waist and not having to cinch things down quite so tight to keep them in place while running.

Jeez

Jeez yer withering away to nothing.

Nope, I'm done with the weight loss, now just working on keeping it lost. Down by 30 was too low, but I'm stable at down by 27. Got all my pants taken in to match the new waistline. Have one good tactical belt I'l need to sell now, it won't adjust small enough. It's a good problem to have.

Yeah I wish it were my problem!

I used to run VTAC original Brokos, but sold it after I decided that a 1.5" belt with 2 pistol/1 rifle mag/IFAK would be all I wanted to carry and didn't need a full belt for such a minimal load.

Battle belt is great for battle, but at that point you grab the PC & backpack.
