Instead of dumping money at the Franklin Co. hunting club I’ve been in I decided a one week hunting trip wouldn’t cost anymore! I’ve looked at Backwoods Trophy Outfitters and they seem reasonably priced.Everything I looked in Hyde County is OMG!!! Priced!!
With dues,corn,gas, and not counting time it’s been costing me between $1200 and $1500 a year for the club. Not to mention the loggers that came in made it 4x4 only getting in and out.

Yeah, if you want a guided bear hunt in Hyde, you need to bring your pocketbook. But the thing is, the guides tell me folks don't bat an eye and ask to be put down again for next year before they get out of the woods. Far too rich for my blood.

We used to deer hunt on property that he leased for bear hunting and he is a nice guy

If I recall Conman is in $1k a day range plus trophy fees if it’s over a certain weight.

I wouldn’t want to do that every year but if you want to take a big black bear off your bucket list that is where I would go

I grew up outside of Bath NC back when there was no bear season at all. And my bucket list bear would be in Alaska! I don’t mind paying for a hunt but $1k a day is overpriced in my opinion. Also you just happen to be where a really big one comes out and you’re going to charge me extra for it. Maybe I’m too old or broke to understand? LOL!

their website says no Trophy fees but at $4500 for the week. But that's probably the going rate for most guide services these days. And they don't have an issue booking up with folks.

I am reminded of a sign at a seafood restaurant I once frequented that said that good seafood is not cheap, and cheap seafood is not good. The same can be said about guided bear hunts.
