Thanks to everyone that helped with info and opinions on the switch!

Main cost was a 16' roll of 3 Chip SMD LED 5050 in Natural White and some wood to fill in the sides inside the safe and get the lights out from behind the edges.

This is the ridiculous factory led lighting on the safe. :p

Here is what it should have looked like. If they aren't going to do it right, don't bother doing it! ;)

From the front. I have since replaced that power supply/converter with something more appropriate and that doesn't heat up as much. That thing was hitting over 140*F after only being on a short time!

Not too noticeable from the outside.

Nice work. That looks so much better.

Nice upgrade. Why did you need a new switch?

Had a poorly performing "motion detection" switch initially. You know the ones you can wave your arms at for 5 minutes and it won't turn on, but someone next door hiccups the light comes on. ;)
While @Djstorm100 did make a good point that I could have upgraded it to a better motion switch, I prefer the simple open=on/closed=off. I had that on an old safe (that I also upgraded the lighting on) and liked the functionality of it.

Beats the piss out of my little AA battery powered fluorescent.

I've got a five bulb LED/AA powered light in mine lol

I need a strand of rope lights and a manual rotary switch or something

Awesome DIY project. What power source did you use?
