I recently purchased a Beretta 1301 Tactical and would like to know if anyone has swapped out their stocks for something else. I've been looking at the Mesa Tactical buttstock and the Magpul shotgun stock(adaptor needed). If anyone has used either one let me know what you think of them. Thanks.

Curious what made you go with a 1301. I watched the Mr. Guns & Gear review and he noted the way to easily jam the gun up using the release buttons. Said it would be a bad place to be if you needed to save your life. Otherwise he loved the gun.

I run a 1301 Competition in 3 Gun. A $10 3D printed guard around the release solved 100% of my jamming issues.

Awesome gun.

If you hit a button when you aren't supposed to it can jam. It's an operator issue. The Mossberg 930 and others do the same thing. I owned a 930SPX for over 10 years and never accidentally hit the button. I did buy a Beretta factory 9.00 part and there is no way on my 1301 to induce the malfunction now. Beretta has this taken care of on all new production models. I purchased it because I heard it'll eat anything you feed it. It doesn't have a problem at all with cheap birdshot. It's supposed to cycle 36% faster than any other shotgun on the market. Also, the models that were made before the newest production were being sold cheap to clear out old stock. I've seen them as cheap as 650.00 new. Mine cost 750 however as the company selling them for 650.00 had just sold out. New production goes for 1000 to 1100 I believe. The only difference I believe is that 9.00 part comes from the factory installed now and they have made the top rail out of metal now whereas the old one was polymer. I really like it as it's super light. It's at least a pound and a half lighter than my 930 was. The bore is chrome lined. It's a quality piece. I miss my 930SPX though sometimes. I had a good one that never malfunctioned. I've seen some that had issues.

I got the low profile one from Tau Development Group and it seems to work well. Never accidentally hit the release since installing.
