I am looking at buying a Bergara ridge in 7 mag and tweaking it all summer for hunting season this year.

I am wondering if anyone owns any Bergara rifles and if they are worth the money. I was able to shoot one last year when a sales rep brought a few of them out for the SWAT team to shoot. Other than that I have no experience with them.

Thank you for any advice!

I love my Bergara BMP 6.5 CM. Pretty much a tack driver right out of the box.
For me, it was the best value for the money. I looked at Masterpiece Arms, Begaras, Tikkas, and RPRs.
While I liked the MPA the best, I couldn't justify the extra cash for it over the Bergara.
Having said all of that, I liked all of them enough to own all four one day.

Awesome! Is yours very picky about factory ammo?

I've only run about 2 boxes of factory stuff through it. Been reloading to tailor a load for it. Still in the testing phase, but so far it's under 1 MOA - and that's likely because of me and not the rifle. I think once we get the seating distance off the lands dialed in, it will be crazy accurate.

EDIT -

Meant to say that I'm the reason it's not BETTER than 1 MOA :D
That thing definitely shoots better than I do!

Ive got a bergara hmr that's been rebarreled to a 26" instead of 22" 6.5 CM, love it! IMO, its as close to a custom as you can get, and for the money, hard to beat for the features you get.
Sweet! I'm going to end up getting one. I think it will fit my need. Thanks for the input. I haven't been able to find man good reviews on YouTube. By good I mean something besides the features.

Ed Shilen taught them how to make barrels as well. And they’re made to shilen specs. So that’s another bonus. Basically getting a shilen barrel

I bought a 308 B14 Hunter a few years ago that is the best rifle I have ever owned. Very accurate, smoothbolt and built like a tank. The only complaint I have about it is that shooting it sparked an interest in long range shooting which proven to be both costly and humbling.

I understand this all too well. Which is why I'm getting one in 7 mag. If I get it in 308 it will become a bench rifle.

Have you bought the rifle yet? I saw a used 7mm B14 Hunter with a threaded barrel for sub $600 that appeared to be lightly used yesterday. Essentially the same rifle but with a #3 contour and green stock. . Buy it before my BIL does. happy to pm you a link if interested.
