The final showdown in the newer Magnificent Seven was pretty good. The previous versions weren’t bad.

Way of the Gun..as good gun handling as you will see. Extreme Predudice...take off on Texas Ranger Juaquin Jackson. Thief..first Michael Mann movie, lots of techniques used in Miami Vice later. James Cann went to Gunsite to get gun handling skills.

If you have not seen Way of the Gun you are missing out. I promise!! James Cann is in this too. Using a revolver!!!

act of valor river extraction scene (starts @ 9:00 in)

or the much better (and longer) version from same director who shot this scene for navy recruitment I believe. So bad @$$.

I love the movie Tombstone...but during the OK Corral scene Doc has those magical 6 shooters that can shoot a bazillion times. I still love it, and the scene, but that kinda lessened it for me.

I never saw the film, but was Enemy at the Gates any good in this regard?
If you watch it as a purely fictional depiction of what things could have been like, then its not terrible. It has some handy Mosin work, some cool sniper scenes, and does a good job of showing what conditions in Stalingrad were during the battle. But if you watch it for historical realism...then nah.

Way of the gun is one of my favorites I was going to list it but saw you had already beaten me to it.
Benicio del Toro before sicario

I seem to recall the historical - or lack thereof - criticisms.

The Wild Bunch...the bloody porch battle was a benchmark in movie making.

Road to Perdition...the final shootout in the street, with Paul Newman just standing there as his men are cut down...quietly devastating cinema.

Wind River...you can see it coming and nothing can stop it, just freaking beautifully violent.

The final gunfight in the movie "Open Range" with Kevin Costner will go down as one of my favorites.

"You the one killed our friend?' " That's right, I shot the boy too and I enjoyed it".

Yeah Costners 16 shooter was a bit much too.

Yup...I let that one go because it could have just been an editing blip...but the nearly semi-automatic window shooting was a bit much. Very cool, but meh.

Heat - bank shootout

Outlaw Josey Wales - trading post gunfight...short, but that double border roll was badass.

13 Hours - firefight from the rooftop of the CIA annex

Act of Valor

That Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrppppppp is the coolest thing ever.
Think I've watched that scene a hundred times.

I have a friend who is currently in SWCC. I never had an opportunity to work with them, all I know about them is from that movie. I asked him about that scene, he said that that's a specialized riverine boat unit based in Stennis, Mississippi. He said that the producer paid for tens of thousands of rounds for that scene and they did it over and over and over from many angles. I thought the movie itself was just kind of 'meh' but I love that scene in the river.

Whaaaattt??

That is a very under rated movie. Killer cast in it.

.

Yup...The Shootist is one of my absolute favorites. The “shooting lesson” scene is great. Shows that just being a good shot isn’t all that’s important. You gotta be willing. No hesitation to pull a trigger.
