Hi friends... I recently bought a brand new 2018 Nissan Titan 4x4 in Gun Metallic Midnight Edition paint job.

Today it got a 3 inch Rough Country lift kit installed with the upgraded shocks and struts.

The Midnight Edition comes with blacked out 20 inch rims. The stock tires are 275x60x20.

After installing the lift, of course, i want bigger off road tires. The place that did the lift recommended that i go with a 305x55x20 BF Goodrich KO2. I think that's a great idea except that those tires go for around $345 each, plus installation, plus tax, etc.

I want the best tire I can get for the least amount of money...

Where do your guys buy your tires? Know any tricks to get the best deal? Is there another tire you would recommend that's cheaper than the KO2 but still good looking and long lasting?

Thanks!

My new truck before the lift...

And after the 3 inch lift...

National Tire & Wheel is who I go to for tires. They are in Wheeling, WV.

Might I suggest something. With truck and SUV tires, the words "long lasting" and "inexpensive" don't really mix well.

Another suggestion. Interco Trxus M/T tires are what I run on my 2016 Jeep Rubicon. They have 28,000 miles on them, cost almost exactly the same as the BFG KO2s, and as far as I can tell so far, they are going to outlast the BFG KOs and KO2s I've run on my older Jeep, that my son now owns, in the past.

Congrats on the new truck btw.

If they outlasted the BFG's... that's really saying something. I got over 50k on my old style MT's.

It could be a matter of preference on how much tread loss you can tolerate. I'm quite certain that there are folks out there that could have run my tires on my old Jeep much longer than I did.

I just wanted to replace them when the tread depth started looking worn. I've noticed that these Interco tires haven't been showing the wear as early as the BFGs I ran on my old Jeep.

The KO2's were a decent tire, I liked them, but went back to the toyo open country RT they have been outstanding.

You still have your JK? If so, how's that transmission working out?:)

I did the same and been very pleased with the toyo’s over BFG’s. With that said not sure how much cheaper they are than the BFG’s. Rad performance in greensboro had best price around on the Toyos when I got them.

I put the toyo Rt’s on my truck last year. I really like them. Daniels tire in Lexington was cheapest for me.

+100 on TRXUS MT's. Quieter than any other MT and most AT's on the highway. Best wet traction on the road of any MT. And they did through any crap nature can dish out.
I saved a bunch ordering from a guy in Texas. No NC Sales tax. Free shipping. Did the same when I ordered 17" rims and tires for my Patriot a while back. He sourced Discount Tire but they were shipped as if they came from his business. Mounted and balanced plus the free Gorilla lugs DT includes with a set of rims.
NTW(NTB)also sells TRUXS MT's. Special order item.
Some shops will not install anything that is not a factory size. But 4X4's are usually an exception.

I use Discount Tire in store and also on ebay, got a better deal that way on my passenger tires.
I used Amazon last set, had them mounted at discount tire.

Are you actually going to take it off-roading? Will you be bouncing it off rocks climbing hills? Mostly in the mud? In the woods? Or do you just want bad handling, gas mileage and road noise driving around?;)

Nope, nope, nope, nope... I just want noise, bad handling, and bad gas mileage.

Although, i do live on a 30 acre property, down a mile long driveway with lots of rain puddles.

When it snows, I'll definitely use the 4 wheel drive while driving down the long driveway...

What do you guys think about the look of my factory tires in the after pics that I just posted in the original post?

I was worried that a lift would make the truck look silly with the factory tires still on it. But, looking at the before and after, it's pretty subtle.

Maybe i should just keep these factory tires on there for 40,000 miles and then put off road tires on it next time.

What would you do?

That is a bad ass truck man. But honestly I wouldn't go much bigger. Maybe just get a set of michelin ltx they look and preform great. unless you just want it to look beefier then I'd probably go cooper.

Tirebuyer has the tires you are looking for shipped to your local installer for $1273.96 with a $70 rebate. Installation should be about $115. So $1318 OTD.

If you really don't drive it off road I would run these tires until they are done. Then you can reassess at that time. If you still want the beefier look then sell the rims and upgrade at that time. Michelin LTXs are a great compromise.

I've owned BFG ATKO and KO2s and have never seen a decrease in fuel economy with stock tire size, nor are they noticably more loud. The ride is more firm, but that's because I ride with more pressure over the stock radials, but they're a very pleasant AT tire.

The last car I put new tires on, I went to Firestone and got the Primewell, they are the store brand. I got about 60,000 miles out of them. They do make truck tires too. I got a set of their all terrain tires on it, it is an old beater Ford Ranger, don't put alot of miles on it but she goes off road most of the time. The Ranger is my pull the boat to the ramp vehicle and go out in the woods hunting truck. I don't know how good they will wear yet, I only put a couple thousand miles on it. But it has never gotten stuck. Where I hunt is a mixture of swamp and sand hills so It goes through mud and that really soft "sugar sand". The Primewell AT tires look pretty beefy. And they are cheap.

Before I lived in NC I used Tirebuyer and Tirerack a lot. Now both charge me tax. I picked up Bridgestones for my F150 from Costco because the price was as cheap as anyone $1 per tire for installation with nitrogen and road hazard coverage and they gave me the $70 instantly. They do not have huge selection of tires but if they have good sales on Michelin and Bridgestone pretty regularly.
