There are certain things you will need to survive Apocalypse, and eyesight will be one of them. It is probably good for you to get used to wearing impact-resistant wrap-around sunglasses everywhere you go, with UV protection. It can actually become a pain in the ass, but it is worth it. You can fight ugly, but you can’t fight blind. I would view it as the new fashion, or maybe the old fashion coming back. Paired with a hat to obscure facial characteristics (and keep acid on the forehead from running into your eyes), it becomes the Whitey Bulger – standard costume for any enemy of the state:

Fits over my old fart prescription glasses, good enough seal to keep stuff from pouring into your eyes if you are rinsing from above, UV protection, also keeps pepper spray out of your eyes, equally effective against acids and bases. I would expect a coordinated effort to use both to limit the effectiveness of neutralizing agents.
