I have a Bear Cruzer LH bow in excellent condition that I bought as a stupid no-brainer bargain at a pawn shop. I have never shot it, as I shoot trad. But if I wanted to shoot it, I have no arrows. What is a good shop where they can determine the draw weight (it's adjustable) and suggest the proper arrow?

@MacEntyre

Not meaning to high jack your thread.

I saw you did wood working in another thread. Have you tried making your own Primative bows?

I want to make a primitive bow... never have. Watched plenty of youtube vids, though!

I picked up that book in the 90s and started hacking away. I loved the book because it was the first time I had read anywhere that you could make a bow out of any wood, not just Osage and Ashe.

I made about two dozen bows of various draw weights and designs. They were all made from red oak boards from Lowes. I never could find the time to make staves from trees.

I still have 5 bows from those days and they still shoot great.

Didja make arrows too?
Yep. Used 3/8 dowel rods. I would buy a box of them and then spine them all and pick out the ones with good grain and the right spine. Return the rest. Cut a knock and then fletch. Used several different broad heads for hunting (never got a deer). Used 375 winchester brass for the blunt tips.

Nothing like a long walk in the woods stump shooting. Haven't done it in years though.
