Ok so I've found a new belt that I love. Problem is that it's 1 & 3/4" wide and most of my leather holsters have inch and a-half loops.
I have one of those leather hole punch sets. Just punch another quarter-inch out of the loop? Dremel it out?

I've used a small rat tail file to do that...just a couple of days ago the last time. Works pretty good if the leather is stiff. If soft...won't work.

What if your next belt is 1.5ā€?

And I've considered that too. I'm gonna frag my holster!
But I love this belt. Been wearing it for a month now, on the job, everyday, out in the woods..trying to find something that might change my mind before I start hacking on muh holsters. It does everything I want it to do so I can see the next 10-15 years no problem. And I like the 1 & 3/4" width so if'n I change I'd stick with that size.

I hadn't thought about a rat file! That's a good idea and more controllable.

I've got two of Chief's holsters. The one he made for my PPQ is the one I'm most concerned about dorking up. (bites nails)

If you have one of my holsters try it. My loops can run close to 1.75ā€ sometimes.

If you have a punch just punch it. You can darken the new leather with a sharpie. Might be less noticeable if you punch a little top and bottom. A file would work but you are chewing the leather up.

Thanks Jason. This is exactly the first method I'd thought of. Little at the top, little at the bottom, sharpie. But it's good to hear it from someone in The Know.
I appreciate it. Happy Easter. :)
