I may be selling my Rubicon Unlimited soon to fund a new vehicle purchase. What's the best way to private party sell in the Raleigh area? I'd rather not try Craig's List - too many weird and flaky people there. I imagine there are internet and phone apps for this sort of thing these days but I am behind the times and not aware of them.

It is an '08 with factory half doors and soft top/windows, winch, aftermarket front bumper, mild lift, high lift jack, CB radio. It has been used a lot in the Mojave desert so the skid plates aren't pristine any more!

I have used Autotrader 3 times before. It worked out fine each time. Blind email, you control information exchange etc. Flat fee for certain length of time.

Here will get some interest. Word on the street is Facebook Marketplace.
Fb marketplace.

That’s where I bought my 15 JKU a few weeks ago. The established websites like autotrader, cars.com etc are filled with dealers so I didn’t spend too much time on them. Cargurus is a decent.

Autotempest.com is a great site to search, you could use it to look into the best places to list. I agree CL is a waste of time, however Facebook is only mildly better with regard to people flaking.

Post on nc4x4.com as well
And if you post it here, I’ll post it to Central North Carolina 4x4 club mailing list for you
Sold my 93 YJ nearly a decade ago on there. Easy. And they don't mind buying one that has off road experience.
BTW, I scratched my River Raider Off Road skid plate on my 2010 Rubi the first time it took it to Uwharrie. Ha. The stock skid plate would have gotten hung up. RROR is flat 3/16" steel plate. Engine to gas tank.

Facebook Marketplace and Autotrader is where i posted my wifes 01 TJ last year....had it sold at asking price in 4 days with 2 buyers lined up if that one fell through.

I had the same experience, got over 100 messages and people were literally fighting over it.

Consign it at i95muscle in Fayetteville. Mitch is great. Bought and sold many there. Always made a nice profit and 0 effort for me. Big plus is mitch and Kalven handle all the flakes. Drop it off. Power of attorney signature while there so they handle the title for you. Receive you check quickly after sale.

Put a for sale sign on it and hit the 440 loop a few times......I'd also hold off till the 21s hit....color depending as all the "cool" colors are going away.
