Watch the video. CBS actually did a decent job on this interview, as Chipman ends up sounding defensive and wounded about not getting the position for which he was nominated. (I do, however, dislike the fact that their banner indicates he is a 'blocked nominee' since, technically, Biden withdrew his nomination before he could be blocked.)

According to the agency he was supposed to head criminals do not buy their guns legally. They steal them or buy stolen guns. It’s not the gun industry that profits from the sale of stolen guns. Then again, the ATF isn’t real keen on going after actual criminals.

The alcohol industry gains 90% if sales from the 10% of the population that abuses alcohol. That is much more accurately called profiteering off of misery. But we tried prohibition once. It made organized crime far large, richer, and more powerful.

So when can I distill my liquor or does the state still feel like I'm cheating them outta their money?

At the federal level, things are pretty cut and dry when it comes to distilling spirits at home. The U.S. Tax and Trade Bureau's (TTB) website states that “while individuals of legal drinking age may produce wine or beer at home for personal or family use, federal law strictly prohibits individuals from producing distilled spirits at home (see 26 United States Code (U.S.C.) 5042(a)(2) and 5053(e)).”

Death to the atf and rip popcorn

Sin taxes are awful and should never be a thing
Included in ALL are taxes applied only to energy, cars, tires, firearms (including NFA items)..... In fact, voiding all product specific taxes would void the NFA because it was "upheld" under congressional authority to tax, jus as Bummercare was wrongly upheld as a tax.

"The gun industry profits by gun violence itself"

The auto industry profits by drunk driving violence itself.
