Bipods

Times 3 on Atlas, but I also have two Harris' and I like them as well. Atlas is expensive, but I think you get what you pay for, as with Harris.

I've got a v8 and a PSR. When I got them though they didn't have those names, I had to look it up since I had no idea what you were asking. Lol

I have a atlas knock off and really like it. It's really well made for 1/6 the cost

Actually have no idea. It has none rotating legs and the quick disconnect.

I have 2 Harris 6-9's. Both swivel and one with notched legs. If you have the money to drop go with Atlas. If not then Harris is the only other I would run. Knock offs are great for plinking, but when you use your equipment as intended the knock offs tend to, well, knock off.

I use a Blackhawk bipod on my .22 but wouldn't recommend cheaping out for any sort of precision work.

Go with a swivel/cant Harris with notched legs if you can't afford an atlas. I like the 6-9" models. Look at Arisaka Defense for their Harris lo-pro adapter:

A big +1 on Arisaka Defense products. The owner is a great guy and it's a NC company.

I run both height swivel and notched leg Harris and an Atlas (BT47.

Here is a good video explaining the different options for Harris:

Going on 4 years with nothing added? Get to posting fellas....I need some inspiration

I’m leaning towards one of the Accu-Tac models, and am curious about the arca rails (that aspect may play into my stock selection later) but I’ve only run across one that’s non-slip and it’s a proprietary design.

Might “settle”’for a picatinny adapter that bolts to the sling stud locations of my factory stock, but again, being hardheaded, I’m having fun trying to find one machined from steel instead of aluminum.

Any tips welcome.

I think I have around a dozen Harris s-brmp 6-9 and a few other misc Harris. I destroyed a Caldwell look alike in 22 rounds under a 33mag.

I love the arca type rails. Don’t buy a cheap clamp though. I run the RRS clamp on my atlas and it doesn’t get loose. Going to be ordering a gen 2 Ckye pod this week from MDT for arca with the shirt prs legs. Area 419 makes an arca rail that uses small scallops in it. Their clamps fit it and regular arca and are nice you might check it out.

Still running Harris BRM-S models attached to sling studs without issues for many years and with my arca equipped rifles I use the Area 419 adapter. Works great.

Area 419 is the non-slip version i was referring too. Accu-tac has an arca clamped version of their bipod, but the way I’m understanding it, it would fit just fine on the Area 419 rail, just wouldn’t take advantage of the “scalloped” locks. I guess the question is could a A-419 clamp be made to work with Accu-tac’s bipod....

I have been running Harris bipods for years with zero failures. I also have a few of the Atlas bipods. My favorite for long range work is the Long Range Accuracy carbon fiber bipod. It is unbelievably stable. Buy once, cry once. Watch out though, there are a lot of knockoffs out there.

Atlas CAL gen 2, I have 2 of them. Great bipods. Not cheap.

Consider the Thunderbeast bipod as well. Comparable from people that have owned both, and one I'd try next. Love their cans.

I owned 3 Harris. Those things are overpriced for what you get IMO. They don't fall apart usually. That's about all I can say about them. I would never recommend a Harris to a friend. Waste of $ IMO.

I would advise a friend to just use an Armageddon Game Changer bag or ruck ISO a bipod if $ is tight.

Or consider an Innorel RC90 tripod + Really Right Stuff Anvil head (if you can't stand that it rotates there is piece made that will mate the two better) for 3x more than a bipod.

Unless you're off a bench, a bag+sandbag/game changer will do you just as well for the most part. A tripod adds extra versatility if you're not just shooting on a flat range from a bench or prone.

I’m gonna throw my hat in and say I like my Magpul bipods too, especially with the ability to lock it. The Harris ones are decent, but I always find myself bumping them and unloading all the spring tension.

I’d forgotten about a Harris S-BR bipod that I bought for cheap in the parking lot of a gun show a few years ago. What do y’all think of this bipod? I dug it out today, and it seems to be a quality unit. Think I paid $25 for it.

It’s a good bipod but I like the M versions with the notched legs and springs out. They are easier to adjust with one hand.

The Magpul aren’t bad but I like the Harris BRM-S better.

I’ve got a Harris on a centerfire and a Magpul on a rimfire. They both work, but I’m not in combat or competition. They don’t get abused or thrown around.

just ordered that exact one today

Atlas Cal on a .300 Winmag bolt gun, Harris on a Rimfire. I prefer to use the sling in prone, but that’s just Service Rifle habit. The Atlas makes my Harris feel and look like a toy. Think BMW M3 versus a Toyota Tercel. They both work, after a fashion. The squirrels can’t tell I went all cheap on the bipod with a bullet in their head💃
