Today I stumbled across this black Collar arms adjustable pistol support.

It's basically an adjustable monopod that is "not a stock or brace"

Anybody know where this thing stands in the current brace debacle? I'm tempted to try one out but I really do like my dogs.

I can't tell if this would actually be a decent workaround. Thoughts?

If I had to take a guess, since most of the federal government takes everything out of context.. this would be viewed as no different than a stock/shouldering device. Regardless of the company's presentation of it.

Remember just a few months ago they called braces "bump stocks"

Would need to look at the arbitrary score sheet, but sounds like they are trying to avoid points. But by the time you add a bipod to a pistol you’re pushing weight problems. It’s a nonstarter for me, but then I’m not one of those precision ar15 pistol benchrest shooters.

I'm assuming they would just say "that's an SBR" and justify it by saying "because we said so"

I would love to be wrong though.

They'll just call it a brace and lump it in with the rest.

Or call it a rear mounted vertical foregrip and throw charges at you.

Interesting idea.
We always think of the stock/brace going on our strong side, but if you have a grip in the back for the weak hand and no way to shoulder and aim it (say slick top and lower rail for a laser) then I think it becomes a firearm and is fired from the weak side hip.
@BigWaylon what you think?

I was actually considering something like this for my 22lr AR blaster if the brace laws activate.

I think it makes my head hurt. And is an answer to a question nobody has asked. And will be consider a stock on the scoresheet. But who knows these days.

Interesting, if you think of it as a stabilizing rear grip. I mean actually think about how it could help two hand stabilize a gun, especially if it easily moved forward from the end of the buffer tube.
