Black Rifle Coffee Company

I don't even drink coffee but I would patronize that store if we had one hrre.

I’m surprised CBS actually aired that segment.

And I must confess, I have not tried the coffee yet. I’ll be on the hunt for it now though.

I've ordered several different types from BRCC. I have realized I can't make a good cup of coffee to save my life. Either too bitter or too sour so I am doing something wrong, lol. I gave the remains of each pack to my neighbor and he made great coffee with each one!

I like supporting them, but I gotta figure out what I'm doing wrong first. :D

BRCC and Matt Best do some great videos on youtube too.

I'm gonna guess you are using tap water - that'll make it sour. Try filtered or bottled water.

I haven't tried it yet. I can't find it around me and I've been meaning to order some online. Going to do that today.

I really wish I had the time an money to get a franchise from them and open a black rifle coffee shop..

Got a whole house filtration system and using the filtered water from the fridge, so hopefully water isn't the issue. Probably just my taste buds. ;)

Possibly. One of the things I've found is that if the temp is too high on your brewer it will make the coffee far more acidic. And a lot of times, good strong coffee has a tendency to be that way anyway.

When I'm using good coffee I usually use a french press. Boil water, take it off the eye until the boil stops and then pour it in..

Add a pinch of salt to the grounds before brewing. Takes away the bitter taste.

They are moving their headquarters here to San Antonio in the near future. Looking forward to going to check it out.

I went and bought one of those Bonavita brewers that supposedly gets the temperature correct. May have to try your way!
Have you tried an American Press yet? I've heard good things about it too.

it's the best, were out right now but we will be ordering more as soon as we gey finished moving next week.

When I was outside Salt Lake City late last summer, I visited BRC HQ.
Heckuva nice bunch of folks there. Matt Best wasn't there, but the rest of the staff was very accomodating. All vets and quite a few were disabled in some way.
There were five of us went out to their shop, and when they saw the haircuts, they asked if we were Military.
When they found out we were on orders to help train up Utah N.G. for deployment, they took us on a tour of the facility, gave each of us a pound of free coffee, and gave us 50% off anything else we bought. Pretty nice of them.

Their coffee is pretty darn good...expensive, but good. Silencer Smooth is my favorite flavor.

Great suggestion about the pinch of salt: I learned about this trick years ago reading the Lord Ramage novels by Dudley Pope (similar to the Hornblower and Aubrey/Maturin series).

Strongly suggest hand grinding the beans and using a press. Found a larger sized press for folks who like more than a mug or two: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008F3Y42O?tag=gbcoffee-20

Not only does hand grinding avoid heating the beans and provide a uniform particle size, but, like hand cranked ice cream or loading a pipe, you just bond to it and it is soothing, contemplative.

Dont hesitate, go for it.
Time issue could easily be fixed by having a good manager.
It'd be a hit, people love coffee shops.

Well, I guess we need to build a CFF headquarters building. First we secure some property, get @Burt Gummer to do the grading and sitework, @concepthomes1 can put us up a nice building. Then we have several members that can do IT and communication installations. Sounds easy enough.
Hey, then we also have a meeting place if the site goes down and SHTF! ;)

If you can get all that done, the least I can do is offer up a location.
