My buddy bought an Omnivore holster the other day because he was having some difficulty finding good holsters for his FNX .45. So he found this holster. Its not for everyone, but I thought Id share with you since I got to play with it a bit. They tout that it will fit 150 different pistols. This holster is unique, that it clamps onto the LIGHT, not the pistol. Which is a neat design. Yes, this is a light bearing holster, but they have one that is not. But, its a good set up if it fits your needs. So what I found neat, was that we had three different pistols. A Kimber 1911, the Glock 19 and the FNX .45. All with a Streamlight TLR 2 mounted….fit tightly and securely. Pretty amazing due to the extreme difference in length and width of all of three pistols. But, it states right on the package that is fits to the LIGHT , not the pistol. I took some pics for your enjoyment.

Holster construction was a very well made, hard plastic. The textured part you see is a rubberized "matting" on the side. The active retention is a thumb release (mash down) and it releases smoothly. comes with a belt loop set up and a paddle. My buddy mounted it on his Serpa platform. Its a pretty slick rig.

Again, not for everyone, but if you are looking for options on a hard to fit pistol , and want to carry with a light, and use it for MULTIPLE pistols…. This is a good option. Cost $64.00 .

Id like to see the non-light bearing holster too. He didn't have one of those. I guess it isn't quite as accepting to the different firearms, as this one since this attaches onto the light. I personally don't feel the need for a lot of active retention on a CCW, but if you are going to be doing "work" with it, I think this is a great option.

I think the non-light one requires a gun with a rail because you have to attach a piece to the rail. The holster locks onto the piece that you attached the rail...I think that's how it works. I briefly looked at one for a FN509 but decided against it.

I've done something similar with the CompTac QB.

It doesn't work on a light mount. It doesn't lock onto anything and doesn't require unlocking to draw.
I got model 1 which works on all my Glocks, M&P's and the Walther. It does fit all of them well.
It would work ok for a competition rig, but probably wouldn't be my first choice for that, and it doesn't attract me for edc use.
But it works great at the range when you cart a bunch of different handguns along. It shines there. It's also completely ambidextrous and adjustable for a wide variety of cants.
I practice from the draw a lot and the QB has made it easy to play with different sidearms without a bunch of different holsters. It's built well and I'm pretty happy with it.
I'm glad to see the universal fit type holsters out there. As said, they work great at the range.

Thats right. I knew he told me something like that.
