Three range sessions and one match shook loose a Holosun on an M&P 9 2.0.

Switching to red 262.

You using the liquid or paste? I’ve got several thousand rounds through a couple different guns and no problem with the paste/ gel blue loctite. Once it held so good I had to drill the screw heads off to get the optic off the slide. Did you clean threads and hole with acetone? Could be some oil in there keeping it from bonding.

This liquid blue Loktite I bought recently doesn’t work as well as the 30 year old bottle I finally finished a week ago, that still worked.
I had put some of this new blue on a handguard after I had to drill out and re-thread a stripped hole so I was bonding fresh metal. That screw came out pretty easily. Too easily, after checking it.

Anyway, the red is already on the two optic screws, so the fix is in.

Dang, I’m gonna I’ve to try the paste or gel.

I’ve had mine come loose, and I felt diligent about degreasing. Super annoying.

The positioning pins on the top of my adapter plate were boogered up, so expect I shot a whole match with it loose.

I DEMAND A RESHOOT!!

:D

The biggest problem I see with picture is making sure threads are clean. So many people remove a screw and not clean it and the hole and just put more on it. So make sure it’s clean and grease/oil free

same. My poly 80 is around 4K rounds no issue. I too had to drill out heads when removing a venom from g 17

In my CHPWS plate I made the mistake of using Blue loctite paste and had to drill the screws out too.

Note to self.
Do not buy Blue loctite paste.

I too am having trouble with the blue paste. I’ve got a rmr on a adm mount and the screws will not budge. Just change all the batteries in all the other optics a month ago but haven’t got these broke loose yet.

White fingernail polish ( Dollar General ) works fantastic. It will not come loose, and when you want to service /remove the optic, brush on some fingernail polish remover and the fasteners will move with ease.

Costs a whopping $2.00..... $1.00 for each bottle..

Drill the heads out. Pull Rmr off. Then use vise grips to remove stud. Clean threads and buy new screws.

You could try holding a soldering iron/wood burner to the screw heads to heat them without too much heat soak to the optic.

You will regret using red on a pistol optic.
Use blue or purple on optic mounts.
I had to use a soldering iron to remove a mount
I used blue locktite on.

If you use red loctite....it may become a permanent attachment.
I’ve had front sights break loose even with red. In fact, it’s what Dawson ships with their sights.

The deed was done yesterday anyway. I like the optic, and unless it breaks, I’m not planning on taking it off.

I’m pretty good with my tools and my hands. Won’t be the first time I heated, or drilled to remove something.

If you use green loctite, it WILL become permanent.

Red usually loosens up with the application of heat. On things other than guns I use a torch to heat it, but Dbracin’s advice above about Using a soldering iron is spot on.

Ya know, you and I need to spend some time together sometime and swap stories. ..
Having seen your place I can safely say yours are always WAY more interesting.
