I have always liked their derringers. They are built like a tank and fit and finish is excellent. The price has always kept me away from them. Now, they have come out with a newer version that is priced much better. It uses the same material but isn't polished. MSRP is $299, now we're getting there. I'd like to try the Rough & Rowdy 45 Colt/.410.

I would love to shoot one to help determine whether I want one. I have always been intrigued with the idea of interchangeable barrels for so many calibers.

One of my buddies in Texas has the high dollar Bond and has 7, I think, different barrels for it. He has a couple that are engraved.

Ive liked derringers due to all the old westerns I watch...but maybe yall can help me out. Other than the "fun" factor, what do they actually offer? I am not trying to poopoo the love here...but they aren't much smaller than a J frame, slower to load than a pocket semi, single action only...

I have an old cheap german .22 derringer that is kinda cool, but not "practical". Don't get me wrong guys, I am all in on the "its just fun" side, so I am really not trying to disparage the derringer, just looking to see if there is something I am missing.

They'll give you a free one when you move the Texas.

I was pleasantly surprised with mine, Bond Arms 357 Magnum 2 Round Derringer.

Recoil is nothing to me.

I have a video or two posted on my social medial site.

I would like a 45LC/410 barrel for more versatility.

I don’t find it to be practical to carry but I shoot it for fun. It is thicker than a S&W 640 357 Magnum 5 Shot which is what I carry.

I had a Bond Arms Snake Slayer a good while back. Traded it to a guy for something, don't remember what. Sure wish I had that gun back. Had a couple of different barrels and a couple of other items for it. Maybe I'll get another one someday.

I've had a Papa Bear model fur years. Been quite happy with it too.

I have been surprised how well .45 Colt and .410 are both very manageable. It's a heavy little bugger which obviously helps. I have found that due to the pivot point for the trigger one must place the finger lower on the trigger than I thought normal.

Which load you have might require a little forethought but it definitely serves the intended purpose. The Winchester Defender shotgun loads prove very effective even out to 10 yards on paper. Don't have a a scope on mine either but a Colt will do it's job in the correct area for 20 or so.

I like that idea a lot. One can fit the proper barrel based on the prospective threat.

I’d like to shoot one to see how bad that tiny thing would be on my fingers before I bought it
Holler at me sometime you are shooting. I can drag one over your way. It was in the car at the last M&G but I didn't figure anyone would be interested. I have a Century 2000 and wifey has a Snake Slayer. I have .22mag barrel, .45acp, .357, and of course 3" 410. The recoil is not bad they way they are designed and as heavy as they are.

Yeah....git us one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Infamous1 said, anybody in my area that wants to try one, just hollar.

My backyard will accommodate this easily!

I feel like we just had this conversation...

As you said, nostalgia and "fun" toys is all they are. They bring nothing practical to the table. They're not small, they're not cheap, they are unwieldy to load and low-capacity, they're heavy, and they are painfully recoil heavy...

We all go through that derringer phase though...

This one intrigues me, and has since they re-introduced the concept.

I think that's pretty cool/I wonder how it shoots/could I get a holster?/I bet it handles well/are there sights available?

Then I see the $1100 price.
Um, yeah.
Moving along, nothing to see here.

Wouldn't mine one of those to slip into one pocket & one of those new NAA Ranger IIs to slip into the other.

A lot of nostalgia involved, but one strong advantage in their favor is how flat they are, as they do sit well in a pocket. It also makes a good secondary carry to your primary. My pop said his was a two round speedloader that he could fire, if need be.

I always carried/thought of mine as a niche gun. It was loaded up with ratshot for varmint dispatch (or finishing off whatever poor little fella was tucked into the tall grass I mowed over), which I use a pistol for far more than self defense. Another advantage to carrying it loaded up with rat shot is that it makes a less lethal / safer alternative for warding off a loose, angry dog or the like.

That said, I sold mine off to somebody that needed it more than me. These days I carry a .22 revolver for all the aforementioned needs.

I had one for a while that had a terrible trigger. Perhaps I should say absolutely horrible trigger. I had to remove the trigger guard so that I could press on the end of the trigger to get it to fire. It also shot 45 Colt to two very different points of aim about two feet apart at about 5 yards. I seem to remember that they have improved the trigger. That would help a lot. I did like the ability to shoot 410 shells from it.

Mine didn’t have that much disparity at 7 yards. It was closer to an inch and a half.

I was shooting 357 Magnum.

I believe there’s one in the case at Colfax G&A. I was tryin’ to get a good look from behind two guys tryin’ to sell a rifle they paid WAYYYYYYY too much for.

Well, 2 or 3 weeks ago I got a nice Bond Arms from a forum member @12151791 . Very nice gun, built like a tank. 45 Colt/410 and a 22LR barrel. We went to shoot it and the trigger was awful. Billy is still cussing it. After looking at the Bond Arms site and watching a couple of You Tube videos, I figured out how to use the trigger. Now it is around 7 pounds, as advertised.

Today, I did some trading and got another one. One is none, two is one, etc......right? This one had bigger grips and has the newer upgraded trigger and hammer so the trigger works much better. This one is is 45 Colt/410 also and the extra barrel came from Ebay. It's 38/357. So, I should be set now.

Oh, and my buddy talked to Gordon Bond at SHOT Show and told him I had been recently converted to Bond Arms. Gordon approved and my buddy has placed an order for some Bond guns. He said that all of the people at the Bond Arms booth were the nicest bunch of people at SHOT Show.
