Does your dishwasher drain hose have any standing water in it?

My old dishwasher went out so I decided to replace it with a Bosch 500 series.
I got it installed and used a high loop setup for the drain line. I noticed after a cycle there is water in the drain hose on the back side of the high loop, from the top of the loop back to the dishwasher. There is no water in the drain hose from the sink wye connection to the top of the drain hose loop.

I have the minimum of 33" rise on the loop suggested in the manual. Standard length drain hose that came with the new unit, no extensions. Drain hose is not kinked. Sink drain lines are clear with no plugs or restrictions.

I took the drain hose off and held into a bucket at the end of a rinse cycle and it seems to drain strong, but still leaves water on the back side of the high loop.

Water does not stand in the bottom of the tub after a cycle. I checked the filter and the pump impeller, although there was standing water in the pump area under the filter.

So I called customer service over the weekend, someone in NC answered right away and said that water in the drain hose does not sound right, but a little water in the pump area is correct and lubricates the drain pump. Said to call cs back during the week and talk to an install tech.

It seems to operate fine other than leaving some water in the drain hose, which I never noticed on older dishwashers.

Update: looks like everything is normal and good to go

The pump can only push water until it gets air. It does not pump air.
Once air hits the pump what ever water in the hose that cannot gravity drain down hill won’t.

Right, I understand that. What I dont get is the over a decade old entry level frigidaire dishwasher would clear the drain hose and this one doesn't.

Nor do the new Samsung dishwashers. Leave water. Samsung says it's like a p-trap in the sink drain. Same purpose

Our Bosch does the same thing, as did our Maytag, both Bosch and Maytag said its normal.

My Whirpool did the same, and now so does the Bosch

One of the owners manuals said to have the trap in it, must have been the Bosch, I put it in a few months ago

Thanks for the replies.
I also checked out my folks Bosch dishwasher this evening while we were visiting and that drain hose was half full of water also.
