I have a TINY distance (17 inches) between the front end of my bed and the wheel well. I have almost NO ability to slide a box in there. I need 58" wings, by 48 inches well, by 17 inches deep. I just gave up and bought a box with a 24 inch depth, and am trying to figure out a way to build up on my rails, then maybe sink a sheet metal screw or two into the rails to hold it stable. Just sitting there with me thinking about how to do it.

Any suggestions?

Got any pictures? Are you talking about a truck tool box and mounting options?

If your box is too deep for the truck, its an easy fix, but its not pretty. I've had this issue with a few work trucks in the past. I just cut some sections of treated 4x4 post, and put them beneath the sides of the box and the bed rails. Another option is to use some u-channel or boxed steel/aluminum as spacers.

Know anybody that could weld whatever material the box is made out of?

You could remove the two lower corners that are in the way, invert them, and weld them back so it's still waterproof.

Just googled it. They make boxes for that make and model. Sometimes one size fits all and doesn't really. You may have to suck it up and get a box made for that truck or follow the instructions for the bubba style installation. I guess it depends on what you want to look like driving down the road.

Waylons suggestion would work well. A fabricator may cost a pretty penny though.
