I purchased a Boyd’s At One stock to replace the plastic stock that my Ruger American .22 came in. while switching out the barrel I noticed that there is only one hole drilled for the screw that connects stock to barrel. My old stock had two that connected. Seems like there is a place for the second screw but it hasn’t been drilled. Do you think they missed at factory or do you think one screw is sufficient since it is a more solid stock?

I had a similar issue with a Boyd's stock for a Savage MKII 22. Contacted Boyds and they were like, yes send it back on your dime and we'll fix it. BS, my drill worked just fine. Not only that, they sent the wrong stock. I dont do business with Boyds anymore.

Yea, no way I’m sending back on my dime. I was afraid of that. thanks.

Just an FYI, on any Boyds stock you buy. If you have to put a screw into the stock where they have a pre-drilled hole you will probably need to drill it a little larger and deeper. Those laminated stocks are harder that a woodpecker beak and you can snap a screw off in a heart beat. I know of what I speak...........

The hole they did drill fit fine and though I had to sand a little rough spots in the magazine area I was pretty happy overall.

I bought a used Rem 597 someone put a Boyd's stock on but they did not install the required nylon spacers. So I am guessing they sold it because it was not accurate. Looking at several of them some models needs something else to make them work right. But they sure do look and feel nice.
