So I bought a Charger Takedown. Added a brace and an optic. Now looking for case ideas. It won't fit in it's box anymore due to the brace.

For those with one, what do you carry it in?

Tagged for interest. RR happen to have a picture of your setup?

Yeah I meant to post it earlier but squirrel.....

I haven't done anything to the internals yet but will be swapping some parts....

Charger Takedown Laminate
Copper Custom Brace adapter (had to inlet the stock for it)
KAK tube and brace
TacSol brake (an extra I had laying around)
PA Advanced Microdot on an ADM QD base

Will upgrade the extractor, firing pin, charging handle, and trigger soon.

WHAT??!!! I have that same Charger but I thought you could only put a brace on the plastic stock. More info please! (had to inlet the stock for it)

It really wasn't that hard to do. I got the brace adapter and traced the outline in pencil. I started with forstner bits in my drill press and just went slow. I finished and squared up the edges with hand carving tools. It's not the prettiest thing with the brace adapter off, but who will ever see that but me? I figured the worst outcome would be I screw up a wood stock and buy a used plastic one. But it turned out great I think.

If you get your brace adapter straight from Copper Custom you can pay extra to have them mill out the stock for the adapter. But it's spendy. It's like 140.00 for the milling of the stock and the adapter, vs. like 55.00 for the adapter.

I went for the DIY option.

Mine (plastic stock) was literally plug and play. Copper adapter, Brace, 2x7 Sweet .22 with high mounts, sling swivel and it was a done deal.

I carry mine in a tennis racket case...

Yeah the plastic stocks have an insert that is replaced by the brace adapter. The wood stocks are solid at that spot.

Not difficult to overcome though. I spent about 30 mins on the inletting job.

IMG_20191115_221427.jpg Made some additions.

Picked up a set of Warne QD rings here.

Had a Nikon 4x32 rimfire on the shelf along with a YHM riser.

My ADM mount for the PA micro is a standard height, not AR height. It was a hair too low.

With the addition of the riser I can now comfortably use either the dot or the Nikon scope.

Will try to get to the range with it Sunday and sight both in and test repeatability of zero with the optic qd mounts and take down.

You want something that will carry the gun together or smaller that will fit it taken down?

I just donated two old suitcases to Habitat. The smaller one might still have been too large, but I bet craigslist or a local 2nd-hand shop would have a smaller suitcase or attache' that could be adapted.

Dunno what "look" you want; if it's for discreet totin', anything unusual would draw attention. If it's for storage & carry to the range, you could get something like that and buy some precut foam (with the pluck-able squares) for a custom fit.

I’ve got an old pelican case here in the building I think without foam. Not sure it’s long enough for though. Measure the charger with the forend removed and lemme know what it is

It's right at 19" with the brace where it is now. Would need like 20-22" in a hard case I think.

Kinda looking for a soft side discrete solution with some internal pockets but I may be interested in the Pelican depending on size. Text me...

I don’t have a case for this guy, but according to the measurements, a case for a Line 6 Helix guitar processor will work, and you can also get those in Anvil type flight cases. Get some 3” thick segmented foam and make a perfect fit.
