I grabbed a fair amount of reloading supplies at a yard sale today. Found some CCI 41 primers, a lot of Lyman #2 and two ammo cans full of primed 30-06 brass. Looks like it was pulled down, or the guy went to the trouble of applying primer sealant. What’s throwing me off is the crimp groove in the neck. Is this intended for blanks? Thanks for any help.

Those look like standard 3006 blanks.
In the old days you cannget them for free almost and pull down the powder and primmer for reloading.
Brass is only worth scrap. Primers were very hard to recover.

I have known people to cht the case off and form for 308.
Kind of like the 300 BO from a 5.56 case.

BTW
I pick them up for linking. They look cool on display for the 1919a4 and A6.
And yes you can repack them for blanks for reenactors, but it is a pain.

Thanks all. Sounds like a bust. Still came out ok on the rest of the haul, just not as good as it could have been.

If anyone knows a someone who can use these, I’ll make them a good deal :)

If you ever get around raleigh let me know.

Like I said they look cool linking them up for display.
Easy to make wood bullets or load a shorter bullet like a 115 308 FMJ to make a dummy round.

I have a bunch of those and reloaded some several decades ago. Not a good idea. I had the base split on one and got a pretty exciting blast of hot has in my face. The 1903 Springfield is not the best in the world for handling gas blowback, but my glasses protected my eyes.

Thanks for the warning. I did a little more reading and found these were not suitable to load projectiles. Guess I’ll toss these. Not worth the risk. Thank you all
