Brazil’s recently elected left-wing President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is pushing new gun control regulations on the country's gun owners, requiring all of them to register each of their firearms with the police.

Undoing all the efforts that reduced violent crime in Brazil.
Does there need to be more proof that leftists view criminals as part of their army against the people?
In the US there are more armed criminal gang members with weapons than there are military or police. But in free states there are more good people with guns than there are criminals with guns. That's why criminals love the areas where God people are prevented from owning guns or brainwashed into believing that only the gov't (and criminals) should have guns.

Elected. That’s funny. Guess if it’s repeated enough it offers an air of legitimacy.

Recently "elected".
Shouldn't that be "elected again"? I could have sworn he was president once before.

Yes. He was.

Guess "Brazil" didn't learn their lesson or as usual, they voted themselves into it, they must want more free stuff.

Commies gonna commie, they voted him in, they will have to live with it or 'vote' him out.

This video by John Stossel is interesting on how socialists/communists rebrand their positions to the sheep to gain power.

I am certain that Robert A. Heinlein (Science Fiction writer, an original Grand Master) wrote that,

..... "Dictators prefer unarmed peasants".

He wrote that phrase, or repeated it, in his Musings, or one of his characters said it. (Jubal Harshaw, perhaps.)

Else, truer words have not been spoken in 60 years plus.
