A panel of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a district court ruling in Maryland Shall Issue, Inc. v. Wes Moore (212017.P) and ruled that Maryland's Handgun Qualification License law is unconstitutional.

Note that this case was not remanded to the district court to reconsider based on guidance from the appeals court. In this case, the appeals court simply made the final ruling: "We will not return the parties to the district court just to push more paper around."

They cited Bruen numerous times. That was a very big win for the 2A community. I think right now is the perfect time to challenge the NFA. Or at least we stand as good of chance as we ever had in getting at least some items removed. I wish I could afford to fight the May 1986 machine gun ban and registry. That defiantly is not in the historical context of the 2A.

It was passed in 2013 with the specific purpose of creating a financial burden on those exercising their 2A rights. The same bill inflicted the expensive training requirements for carry permits. Granted, the anti gun subjective "may issue" law had always resulted in 99% denial rate.
With the Bruen decision, the MGA passed and the ruler gov signed the law making virtually the entire state a gun free zone. That got tossed by the courts too.
But the Montgomery County lawsuits are still pending. Can't even drive through MoCo with gun in the car, even with a permit due to how "sensitive place" is defined.
I moved behind enemy lines post Bruen. Got my carry permit in 40 days. Training waived with my 40yo DD214. HQL was a freebooby prize. But for long time residents who didn't yet own a handgun, they had pay for training, pay for the live fire, then apply for the HQL before they could purchase a handgun. After that they had to take more classes before applying for a carry permit.
Residents treated differently from interlopers like me. No permit needed to bring my "arsenal" into the state. 😄😁😆😅🤣
Still costs over $1000 for a couple to get carry permits. It will get more expensive as that the Bruen vomit doubled the required training hours. Naturally, the Fudds who make a living off the training mandates support increasing the training mandates. Same in NC and every other state with a training requirement.

This is a HUGE WIN for law abiding citizens and SUBSTANTIATION that $upporting Grass Roots 2A organizations is money wisely invested!

Reading - even skimming and scanning - the opinions of the judges are eye opening. Heck, some of the majority comments make one’s head swim!

It's only a win, if the government changes. Sad part is that courts have no way to enforce.
That's what happened in NY. SC says you can't do that.

Oh yeah? Watch this!

Doubled down, gave a middle finger to the court and violated rights harder. The people suffer and in 15 or 20 years when or if it makes it back to the court, there's no repercussions for the politburo nor the stasi who enforce clearly unconstitutional law

Refugee from Maryland having moved to America, uh SC, last year. I had a carry permit before Bruen and it was a pain to obtain. Part of the process was sitting across a table from a state police detective and being grilled on why I thought I needed a permit. If it pleases the crown may I defend my life and my loved ones ... Thank you NY pistol and rifle club. Long time supporter of MSI, Maryland Shall Issue, the organization that brought the suit and still am as they'll likely get on the legal map like Bruen did and help push back anti 2A infringement. MD looks at CA, NJ, NY and IL and says hold my beer. Beautiful state run by Marxists kept in office by three counties and Baltimore. Like NY, MD will help right the ship as there are enough committed patriots who won't quit and may set the stage for the fall of other unconstitutional laws.

NJ is just as bad or even worse, you have no right to defend yourself or family, Governor passed more anti RTKBA bills and is proud of himself.

The Police and Dems are not going to follow the courts order. They obviously feel they are not beholden to them.

Maryland's AG has 14 days to appeal. If he doesn't the panel's ruling becomes law 21 days after their decision. The MSP can't enforce the ruling until one of those dates has passed. If the AG does appeal to the entire 4th circuit and if they uphold MD's HQL, it goes to the Supreme Court. THAT would be interesting as it could set the stage for a nation-wide overturning of all buying restrictions.
