Brett Kavanaugh Senate Kabuki Theater

If I recall, PR can request to be the 51st state and only require the Congress to pass - the president does not even have to sign into law for a new state. I think it is commonly called the Tennessee plan to join the union.

Ginsburg was approved 96 yeas, 3 nays

I believe the right would be stooping just as low if the shoe was on the other foot.

You have to be kidding right?

The left’s resistance to every Republican nominee starting with Bork: hysteria, lies, and character assassination.

The right’s resistance to every Democrat nominee: oh well. Must follow the Senate protocol and be collegial.

The delay on Garland was the one bit of spine they’ve shown and thank God for that.

I am as cynical as the next guy about the Uniparty but the left and right halves use very different tactics and this is one of those examples.

Well it looks like his accuser has stepped forward ...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...gh-sexually-assaulted-her-it-derailed-me.html

The woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault came forward with her explosive allegations on Sunday, saying the supposed attack "derailed me substantially for four or five years" and claiming that the episode rendered her "unable to have healthy relationships with men."

The woman, Christine Ford, is a professor at Palo Alto University, according to The Washington Post, which published her account on Sunday. Her decision to go public has capped a whirlwhind week that began when Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., sent shockwaves through Washington by announcing she had sent the FBI information about Kavanaugh she received from an anonymous accuser in July. It's also threatened to upend Kavanaugh's confirmation, as top Democrats call for a full investigation.

Buckle up guys ... this is going to get real bumpy.

This accusation is a Non Sequitur. The good Senator sat on this letter, withheld information about a crime from the past.
Is there any reference to a can of diet soda or a blue dress?

What they are not telling you is the FBI knows about it and have looked into it already. Must not be very pressing if nothing came of it.

Btw, my wife and I are of the same opinion. We are betting the threat of what’s in it are worse than what’s actually in it. Which may be why they are sitting on it.

Ford said she told no one of the incident in any detail until 2012, when she was in couples therapy with her husband. The therapist’s notes, portions of which were provided by Ford and reviewed by The Washington Post, do not mention Kavanaugh’s name but say she reported that she was attacked by students “from an elitist boys’ school” who went on to become “highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington.” The notes say four boys were involved, a discrepancy Ford says was an error on the therapist’s part. Ford said there were four boys at the party but only two in the room.

Ford said she does not remember how the gathering came together the night of the incident. She said she often spent time in the summer at the Columbia Country Club pool in Chevy Chase, where in those pre-cellphone days, teenagers learned about gatherings via word of mouth. She also doesn’t recall who owned the house or how she got there.

After so many years, Ford said she does not remember some key details of the incident. She said she believes it occurred in the summer of 1982, when she was 15, around the end of her sophomore year at the all-girls Holton-Arms School in Bethesda.

Gloria Allred's Fake Yearbook Signature

"WE CALLED IT! Gloria Allred Accuser **ADMITS** She Tampered With Roy Moore’s Yearbook ‘Signature’ (VIDEO)," the headline reads on The Gateway Pundit. We found similar posts on Breitbart, "Roy Moore Accuser Beverly Nelson Admits She Forged Yearbook," and on the blog Silence is Consent, "Roy Moore accuser admits she forged yearbook inscription."

Beverly Young Nelson accused Roy Moore of groping her when she was 16 years old and he, in his 30s, was the deputy district attorney of Etowah County. As evidence, Nelson presented a note she said Moore wrote in her high school yearbook before the incident took place. Nelson has been represented by celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred.

Just got a news alert that Jeff Flake or whatever his name is is now “no longer comfortable voting for Kavanaugh” until more is known about this accusation.

Such a fitting name.

The Legal Advisor for Kavanaugh’s Accuser Is a Big Time Democratic Donor, Thinks People Who Work for Trump Are 'Miscreants'
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/timot...at-donor-and-has-trashed-paula-jones-n2519525

But, readers should remember that Katz treated Paula Jones' accusations of sexual harassment against President Bill Clinton very differently in the 1990s. According to court documents, Jones claimed that then-Arkansas governor Bill Clinton summoned her to his hotel room where she was working as a receptionist. While in the room he "unexpectedly reached over to (her), took her hand, and pulled her toward him, so that their bodies were close to each other." She backed away, but he pursued, saying, 'I love the way your hair flows down your back' and 'I love your curves. He then "put his hand on her leg, started sliding it toward her pelvic area, and bent down to attempt to kiss her on the neck, all without her consent.' Jones claimed she said, "What are you doing?" and had to escape to a nearby sofa where she attempted to distract the governor by talking about his wife.

However, when she was sitting on the sofa, Clinton came close to her and "lowered his trousers and underwear, exposed his penis (which was erect) and told (her) to 'kiss it.'" Jones then attempted to leave but the governor said, "'Well, I don't want to make you do anything you don't want to do,' and then pulled up his pants and said, 'If you get in trouble for leaving work, have Dave call me immediately and I'll take care of it.' She left the room (the door of which was not locked), the governor 'detained' her momentarily, 'looked sternly' at her, and said, 'You are smart. Let's keep this between ourselves,'" according to court documents.

Jones claims she initially kept the incident to herself for fear of workplace retribution since Clinton knew her boss. Katz dismissed Jones' assertions on March 30th,1998 on CNN's "Talkback Live" saying that, "Paula Jones' suit is very, very, very weak. She's alleged one incident that took place in a hotel room that, by her own testimony, lasted 10 to 12 minutes. She suffered no repercussions in the workplace."

Likewise, Katz again said on CBS' Evening News on April 2nd, 1998 that Jones' allegation could not hold up in court because, "Clearly a one-time incident that took place in 10 to 12 minutes, she was not forced to have sex, she left on her own volition, the courts increasingly are finding that that is not enough to create a sexually hostile work environment claim."

Katz continued to argue throughout the 90s that because Jones could not show that the harassment was "severe and pervasive," she did not have a case. In 1998, Katz told the media that, "If a woman came to me with a similar fact pattern, that is someone in the company above her propositioned her but only once and she suffered no tangible job detriment. I would probably tell her that I'm sorry, it's unfair, but you don't have a case.’ Katz said that courts have generally held that a one-time proposition does not constitute harassment. If it's one time, it has to be severe, almost a sexual assault, not just a touching of somebody's breast or buttocks or even forceful kissing."

Jones has since maintained her incident with Bill Clinton left her traumatized and demoralized. The president was forced to settle for $850,000.

Yet, Katz continued to dismiss certain episodes of sexual misconduct throughout the years. Fast forward to 2017 and Katz defended then Sen. Al Franken after a photo appeared of him mock groping a female colleague while working as a comedian. At the time Katz said, "Context is relevant. He did not do this as a member of the U.S. Senate. He did this in his capacity of someone who was still functioning as an entertainer," and dismissed concern it was sexual harassment.

Since 2004, Katz has donated at least $26,000 to Democratic politicians including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Kerry. She also donated to groups such as MoveOn.org, the DNC Services Corp, and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Likewise, in March 2017 Katz declared via Facebook that, "These people are all miscreants. The term ‘basket of deplorables’ is far too generous a description for these people who are now Senior Trump advisors," after a report surfaced that Department of Homeland Security advisor Frank Wuco made anti-Islamic remarks which prompted his resignation.

The Washington Post's breaking news on this topic has Democratic leaders calling for a delay in voting on the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, but Republican Senator chuck Grassley has announced there will be no such delay.

Flake is a tool. Hopefully the people of AZ can finish cleaning up their Senators.

The Democrats desperately want to delay Kavanaugh's confirmation vote until after the November elections. Feinstein holds something for months until after the hearings are over to make an accusation . . . and wants to delay until her accusation can be investigated. Sorry, but that is far too convenient to be credible.

Professor Ford appears no more credible than Richard Rich.

Payoff?

That's when you put the squeeze on Dems whose districts broke for Trump. Democrats in Red States are vulnerable.

The Dems have pushed all the chips in. Hopefully O'Keefe and Project Veritas video release this week will hold its own against all this Marxist plotting and obstruction. It is getting close to time for the Orange Emperor to take the gloves off. My guess is he wanted to wait until after midterms, but he needs to start throwing punches in this street brawl.

. Republicans don't fight for anything.
They make me puke! I love Dems, they never let me down. They always do exactly like I know they will. Our folks are the ones who put the screws to me. I am a member of the Party of Trump.

What's the saying? I wouldn't join any party that would have me? But seriously, the R's are for the most part pansies and frauds. While I hate the Dems, who are all really Communists, at least they fight for what they believe. That can be respected more than a group of people that believe in nothing and fight like the French.

What the Dems have going for them is they present a united front. You know the Maxine Waters camp hates Nancy Pelosi camp along with many others who can’t stand each other ... until a a Republican walks in the room and they all become best buds. The Republicans are so fractured they couldn’t even stop Odumba Care when they held the congressional majority.

Flake is a tool.

Yup, "Bought & Paid For" member of the "Uniparty."

Yah, They are "Masters at Street Fighting" & MSM helps them.

It’s just crazy to even entertain something from 30 plus years ago now. She had her chance to ruin his life a very long time ago but didn’t find it important back then.

First of all, we have no repercussions for people who do falsely accuse others or lie about details. This has been the case with many high profile cases (not saying either way on this , as it is just personal opinion).

I personally think Kavanaugh is done. He will lose his confirmation vote because of this. We are in for a rough ride with whoever Trump nominates (shy of Merrick Garland). Washington needs change. The Dems obstruct anything they can and the Repubs wont fight and stick together for anything.

This supposedly happened when they were in high school and he was drunk? Ok, I don't want to sound callous but who the effe cares? There is no doubt that she was drunk as well.

And having been in situations somewhat similar I have found that women are vicious and remember things far differently than they actually occurred. I was at a party at 19, drunk off my ass and jumped in a pool in December along with a few other people. I was changing in a room by myself when the door opens and a girl walks in. I was naked but I don't have a lot of shame so I just stood there not bothering to cover up as she drunkenly oggled. I said "take a picture if it'll help" and she turned and left the room.

I finished getting dressed and walked back out into the party. Couldn't find my girlfriend anywhere, finally find her crying upstairs. When I asked her wtf was up I was called an a$$hole. The girl told her that I grabbed her and kissed her and then tried to take her top off. I told her that I was going to effe her and video tape it.

Took some talking to get that all sorted out but we left the party immediately. I have no clue where that came from but when I confronted the girl she held to the story and I could see that she believed it. My only thought is that she, in her drunken state, confused what her fantasy wanted to happen with me and reality.

All that to say I wouldn't be surprised if she believed that it happened but I think its a crock of bs based on the rest of the evidence about the man.

I have another similar story that happened to me in high school but there was no alcohol involved and it was with an ex-girlfriend who told a lie about me trying to kill her to get my current girlfriend to break up with me and stuck to it so hard that when I ran into her 6 years after she ran away saying I was still going to kill her.

Bitches be crazy or I've dated the crazy ones.

He will be confirmed before the midterms. This is just a publicity stunt that took them longer to find someone willing to lie. I say put her ass under oath and grill the hell out of her. Let her be made a fool for lying to all these people.

I really hope you are right!

Well they are going to postpone the vote and she is going to testify.

Possible “she said ... he said” standoff with the win to the Dems by holding of the vote until after the midterms and stopping his appointment.

The vote can be held until after the midterms. Even if they R’s lose the Senate on 11/6 they can still vote for him and confirm him before the New Senate is seated. This is what I foresee happening as a way for the R’s to Hope to hold onto the senate.
