10.5" Brownells BRN 180 .223 Wylde upper on a Bushmaster SBR lower. This is temporary until the stamp comes back on my New Frontier folding lower then it will get that lower and magpul UBR side folder.

Very cool. Nice option for those of us who wanted a 10.5" MCX instead of the 11.5" we got.

Took her out today. Ran 100% until the indoor range guy noticed I was shooting Wolf steel bullet and interrupted me. I hate indoor ranges. Anyway no idea what it was doing for accuracy as it was an indoor range at 35 yards and I dont really care about accuracy all that much anyway. I did manage to get the scope zeroed before I was so rudely interrupted. I'll have to make the run to the nearest outdoor range next weekend and get it zeroed at 100 yards. I did end up changing scopes as the lever was hitting the scope mounts on the elcan.

Yeah, those guys are so uneducated. There's a good YouTube video where they show that bimetal jackets don't really do anything to targets.

How well does the upper perform as a suppressor host?

It does well. I'm running a 30 cal specwar can on it so the pressure isnt super high inside the can and the suppressor setting on the gas block doesnt do much. I leave it on "normal" and get no gas back in the action. Typical piston setup as far as clean inside the receiver.

How's the bolt velocity with it on normal with the can?

Nothing out of the ordinary. shells land about where they do without the silencer.

That's pretty nice. Might be a factor of having a low back pressure can too, I suppose.

Yeah. I've shot 556 cans on other rifles I own and the 30 Cal specwar was as quiet or quieter and doesn't cause weird behavior. Sometimes I wonder why people by 223 specific cans.

Usually just lighter and shorter, if comparing from the same series.
