Broadway At The Beach Cover Up?

I have a cousin that lives in the MB area. He said that if anyone new what was in the water just 50 feet from the beach people would never get in the water. Sting rays, jelly fish ,sea snakes, sharks ,barracudas. There are others but you won't ever catch my butt in there. As far as the low life at MB ,why do you think they call it "Low Country". Sorry couldn't help my self.

Lived in cherry grove for five years and was always amazed at how people didn't think/realize sharks are everywhere. I lived in the salt marsh at night catching shrimp and mud minnows to sell. Been bumped dozens of times by sharks I'd hate to know the size of, but never bit. The camp I used to run are the only structures in the background of this video. We'd turn 200 high school ffa kids loose in this marsh every week in the summer, and never had the first incident related to sharks.

(Yes, this guy is annoying to listen to)

I'll have to verify, but I think the girl in the vid is kin to my wife's people.

When it first came out, I laffed.

Any person who swims near the piers...period....deserve what they get. Now if kid gets bit, tie the parent(s) to the pylons and wait for a bit. Seriously..the stupidest thing to do is swim by the pier.

Also, this is how to test for sharks in the area.

I pretty much quit going to MB after I graduated from high school in '78! Give me the mountains any day over the beach.
Love the mountains, most beautiful part of our state. The only thing I love about the coast and what keeps me drawn to salt water is the fishing. I love salt water food. I hate Myrtle Beach and the towns and cities they’ve built on what could be beautiful barrier islands and strands. The best time at the beach is 5am -9am. After 10am go home, those less in tune with nature and tourists take over. Anyway they can have Horry County, too many outsiders coming down wanting too many restrictions on everything.

The best time at the beach is after Labor Day and before Memorial Day.

My wife, daughter, and I were down there this past weekend. We stayed in Murrells Inlet, and spent most of our time there and south of there in the Litchfield/Pawleys areas. Not too bad down there, but still way more crowded than it was just several years ago.

We ventured north to Broadway for my wife and daughter to hit a couple of shops, and it was kind of like being a stranger in a strange land. Lots of different languages being spoken. Wasn't sketchy or scary though, in the middle of the afternoon.

My wife used to dream of us someday retiring to the Garden City Beach/Murrells Inlet area. Not so much lately. I don't think I would want to live in any place that was popular with tourists.

I’d retire to Brunswick County. Calabash / Sunset / Ocean Isle. Too busy in Murrells Inlet. Outbanks even better.
