I was sizing some 9mm brass this afternoon when the piece that holds the handle on, broke. It is a Lee Challenger press from around 1995. Naturally the part has been discontinued. I found the upgraded replacement parts and they are out of stock and on back order until sometime in October. The parts and shipping are going to be about $25 for a press that I only paid about $30-35.

Anyone have an old Challenger press that they would like to get rid of cheap?

This is the part that broke. I am trying some JB Weld to see if it will hold it together.

I have one. Been trying to post pictures but my phone is being stupid now and won't post it. Where are you located?

I cannot help but wonder, how much money did you end up saving, running that press since 1995? I bet it would be staggering for something that seemingly cost so little... of course 35$ back then also was more....

But boy I bet it was worth it :)

I sent an email about the broken linkage to Lee. The next day, a lady from Lee Customer Service called me. She explained that they would replace the broken linkage with the upgraded part and give me the other parts to upgrade it, but I would need to buy 1 linkage for $5.00 and pay for shipping. All total with shipping and tax, it was about $22. They had everything in stock and I got them in the mail yesterday. Easy swap out and the new parts would break the press frame before they would break.

Figures. Nobody lives close to me. I will try to get pics posted of it. If you can't find what you need elsewhere and you want this one let me know and we will work something out.
