Broken retainer pin!

First time this has ever happened to me. Bolt has a total of 500 rounds on it so I decided it's time to clean. Pull the pin and it just snaps like a dry spaghetti noodle.
Good thing I have extras.

That’s a new one for me. I’ve operator error cause them to break, but never from simply removing it. It pays to keep spares of every part, even if you think they will never be needed.

Buy at least 5 spare pins, that way you’ll never break another.

Agreed, I’ve never seen one rust before.

The original pin design was not a Cotter pin. AFAIK the swap to Cotter pin was for cost reasons.
