I placed an order with Brownells last week, which included an aftermarket handguard I was really excited to install and try out this Saturday. Everything was in stock. Everything shipped at the same time on Monday. I received most of my items via FedEx today, but the handguard was a no-show. I checked my tracking info, and for some reason Brownells shipped it in a different box, via FedEx SmartPost. Ohhh brother, not this again! SmartPost is seriously the worst!
The handguard is queued in Charlotte as I type this, and tracking info has not updated all day. It is scheduled to be delivered Saturday, and USPS tends to deliver very late in the day. Our carrier is ... not great. She misdelivers frequently, and has even driven her personal car to my house after dark, dressed in her regular clothes, to deliver a package. I can only guess as to why. Also, the majority of past SmartPost packages have arrived far later than estimated. So, this impatient gun enthusiast will probably have to wait a few more weeks to try out his new gear. again.
Anyone buy a lot from Brownells? Is this standard practice to split up a single order, ship out on the same day, but ship via two different methods? I did buy some Hoppe's, so I understand the hazmat requirements. But why not just ship it all in one box?
Okay. Rant over.
