My grandpa recently passed after a brief battle with cancer and he gave me a few of his guns before he passed. One of them I have drooled over since I was a kid. I remember going to the local gun shop with him when he bought it. He hunted with it a good bit, but took great care of it.
I've got to put some good glass on it, but I'm gonna make it my go to woods rifle. Thinking of a nice 2-7 or a lightweight 3-9. This isn't the best pic, but here she is. 20171217_220545.jpg

Awesome....any hand me down is a treasure, but yours is a beauty! One of my several gun mistakes was letting go a BLR. Very handy rifles for sure.

That's a great rifle and round. A 2-7 Leupold would be awesome on that rifle and wouldn't affect the carrying balance much at all.

I've got 2 boxes of ammo for it and the same shop he bought it from has 5 boxes on the shelf, but at $50/box it's time to find some brass and dies.
