Well, I decided to put some Christmas gift cards to good use and went on down to Lowe's and bought what I needed to make me a work bench. Final dimensions are 12 ft long, 32 in wide, 35 1/2 high. I know that seems high, but it's about what my table saw height is and I like it much better than typical work bench heights. The top is just over an inch thick, 7/16 osb and 19/32 pine sheathing. That will probably get upgraded at some point. I might mount some pegboard above it, and definitely some shelves below. But for now it will work nicely.

Looks good! I went about 38 high on mine, so your height isnt odd to me. Its nice having a bench your not hunching over when standing.

If you can use a rounding bit on the edges togive you a nice easy edge. Give the surface a good sanding and install some quarter molding back against the wall. Finally treat the top with a marine resin coating to protect it.

Also think about outlets or power strips so you have easier access to power.

Yeah that's basically the plan right now. Although I'll probably do a simple poly for the top.

Looks simple, looks good.
Well done
