bushmaster carbon 15 - bubba'd

I picked this up from the local gun/pawn one day when i stopped in. they had just pulled it out of their store room and wanted to get rid of it.
I think they only wanted like 300 to get it out of their hands
I figured i can never have too many fun guns, right?

What do i do with this little monstrosity? Note the rear sight and also the flash hider is upside down... somebody's been doing things to this poor rifle.

if that's genuine, and it appears to be, it's worth almost half as much as i paid for the whole kit.

Anyway, what should I do with it? do i want to return it to its original state with an A2 grip and a carbine rail? leave the mft and match some parts upgrades? rework the whole thing into modern matching magpul? put a quality optic on it?
I haven't fired it yet, and with that flash hider upside down I'm not sure i want to until I fully strip it down and do some good inspecting.

Back to stock and use it as a truck/loaner gun.

Trash the junk parts.

A2 grip is on, standard black carbine grip is on
moved the sinoelectric optic to a hand-tight build that i use for my mantis blackbeard.
took the romeo 7 off the blackbeard rifle and moved it to the suppressed AR-22 i built
moved the swampfox kingslayer from the AR-22 and put it in the parts box for now. it will find a new home soon enough.

wait a second... don't i have a carry handle sitting around doing not much?

Personally, I’d throw the carry handle on it, leave everything else on it so you could still use the light without spending more $$

I’d also go through it and make sure they aren’t any other surprises

but i don't have any ARs in "standard" config, except for one A1-ish rifle. this might be best in the original format.

i don't have a gooseneck for the carry handle... but i do have a 1913 rail that screws into one... i could play late 80s future tough guy.
