Butler creek flip cap is very hard to open

It fits snug on my scope, but requires 2 hands and some hard pushing to get it to flip open. Why is this?

Is it too tight on the scope?can I heat it up in some boiling water and then place it on my scope, if it is too tight?

Can you post a pic of it on your scope? It sounds like it is too tight.

I can tomorrow. The next size up was too big. It just slid on with no tension.
