There is a 3 page discussion on the 1911 forum about BHSS testing of the new Tisas BHP clone. I do not like the methodology they used to do the testing but it has yielded some data worth taking note of.

They reported the 3rd conform extractor failure. They also had the firing pin retaining plate crack while firing. Finally when shooting more than 200 rounds at a decent pace the barrel lost accuracy and if I am reading it right bound up on them. They put the barrel on some testing equipment and the barrel is out of spec. It is oversized.

This has also been verified by other sources like C&S who told me the barrel was not the same spec as FN but they did not state it did not function properly just that dimensionally it is different. Other end users have tried to swap the barrel with FN barrels and they will not function but no firing has been done.

At this point Tisas has been alerted to the issue and are stating they will redesign the extractor and firing pin retaining plate.
My guess is that these are poorly cast or crappy MIM parts.

So in conclusion DO NOT BUY one of these clones. If you are in the market for a BHP look for FN/Browning guns. If you have to get a clone look at FEG, Charles Daly and FM guns which even though they are discontinued have a solid rep for reliability and compatibility.
