Camping for Large Groups

New River State Park has a decent group camping site at the Wagoner Road access. The camping sites there are a quarter mile or more from the parking lot and it does feel a lot more rustic. They have wheelbarrows and carts you can borrow to haul your gear to the sites, as there is no road access to them. Has a nice newer bathhouse that isn’t a horrible hike from the group site. We really like that part of the park for camping. There aren’t that many sites, so even when the campground is full, it doesn’t feel full. Can make it hard to get a site in the fall, though. Reserve early.
