I was working a bunch of range pickup 6.5 CM brass yesterday and today using Hornady dies and they are very tight in the press. I do understand that brass does have different thickness. When resizing the brass how can the outside not form to the die?
I had a few pieces that would not fit flush in the case gauge. Some were so bad that the base was sticking out as much as the rim. You would think that the shoulders would be the same since the dies are locked down.
Most of the brass that I had was Hornady (and those were the ones that I had problems with). The brass that felt the best was Sig.
I also did 3 one gallon size of 308 brass with Hornady dies and every one fit flush in the gauge.
