So i bought one of those hand held pimer thingies. I purchased 250 300blk brass that were already deprimed. The mouth of the brass certainly looked flaired so I went ahead and sat on the couch and popped in primers while I was chillin watching tv.

Fast forward to last night and I started to seat some 245gr coated lead bullet and the mouth isnt large enough so it's scapping a large amount of lead and depositing itnon the case to the point that you can get it all off. It would probably lead to feeding issues. I have put these same bullets in fully sized cases before with no issues so has to be the case neck is too narrow.

I could either save these 250 for copper bullets or resize BUT, if I fully size them Ill be popping out good primers. Using lee dies.

Anyway to size that neck without popping the good primer?

Sure thing. Remove the depriming pin in the resizing stem, or seat it up higher in the die.

But it sounds like you need more flare/flair!

But doesnt the pin also have the bulb that flares or are it two different pieces on that shaft?
depends on the die set you have. Lee's are all one piece, RCBS and others have a separate pin. Using cast boolits in a bottleneck case almost ALWAYS required flaring the mouth just like a pistol case. Lee has some flaring dies just for this purpose.
For .300blk I modified a Lee powder drop die with a .30 carbine flare plug so it flares and drops powder just like their pistol sets.

Resizing will not help you in this case anyway, as it does not flare the mouth. If you have a universal expander die, that could be used to flare the mouth.

Just to get you by, I was thinking of what you might be able to use. You might be able to take a small 1/4" drive socket, small enough size to fit inside the case, and tap lightly to put a small flare on the cases.

Went ahead and ordered the lee universal. I don't have enough stuff anyway.
The problem with reloading is that there is an endless supply of shiny reloading gadgets that I never knew I needed.

I've found the Lee universal expander (not really an expander, just a flaring tool) is a handy thing to have.

If you intend to load cast bullets in rifle cartridges this die is a must have item.

If the mouth isn't wide enough, the shoulder may need reset as well. If it was me I would lube and re-size the brass just to be sure. Popping the good primer won't do anything negative to the primer. Just empty your primer tube so you don't get them mixed up with spent ones. I load .223, 308 and 5.7x28mm necked rounds and since the 5.7x28mm is so finicky I'd rather do the extra work and be right then have to pull down 250 unusable rounds or worse damage my gun. My 2 cents.

I had to go to a Lyman M-die to reload cast 30-30 bullets. Not sure that will work in the 300BO
