Canada gun ban imminent?

hell I thought they pretty much already had a de facto semi auto ban and no right to legal self defense anyhow just like every other Eurocuck country
no pistols, but rifles are ok. I dont know a ton about it, but I looked into it last summer

I learned a little bit of their laws watching Demolition Ranch. He went up to visit another youtuber, Furious Pete, who lives in Canada and was interested in firearms. Definitely some odd laws, but a little better than I expected.

Probably falls under "we have to do something" or maybe old information.
According to this article in the truth about guns the shooter was reported to have owned two handguns and a shotgun. Note that Supt. Campbell still has not identified the firearms used during the 12-hour shooting spree or how the shooter obtained them.
The shooting may have been initiated by an argument the shooter had with his girlfriend on Saturday evening during which he assaulted her.
Also note that RCMP officers bumped into the shooter by chance as he was filling his fake police cruiser with gas. That encounter resulted in a brief shootout and the death of the murderer.

To the shooting that has allowed Turdeau to start this ... we have heard the shooter had firearms illegally obtained and possessed and that it was one handgun and a couple long guns. I have yet to hear anything more information on them than they were even possibly purchased in the US and brought back into Canada except for Turdeau is going to ban “assault rifles” which most likely an incorrect term for any firearm the shooter possessed or used. The less information they release the more crap they cam spread and use to grow their agenda. Again it sure seems to be a liberal gun grab “never let a good shooting go to waste” type spin.

Turdeau is POS and I’m betting is trying his damnedest to get enough “evidence” to point a finger at the shooter buying an “assault rifle” that can shoot a 30 round magazine clip in 1/2 a second at a gun show in the US with no background check so the Doomberg group here can start on this side of the border.

I had always heard that sawed off shotguns were legal there but no semi handguns...No clue if thats right or not

Canadians are subjects, from a long line of subjects. Canada's early growth included all of the King's willing and devoted subjects who fled from the United States.

They're going to go big on this one. All registered semi-auto rifles will be gone.

We'll see, I just dont see ALL semi-autos getting banned, too much hunting up there
Hope it doesnt go that route

All REGISTERED semiautomatic rifles. Some hunting guns might squeeze by because they aren't currently registered. Anything currently on the "assault weapon" registration is toast.
The hunters aren't the ones making the rules. The rulemaking is done by people who don't know where venison sausage comes from.

TORONTO — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced an immediate ban Friday on the sale and use of assault-style weapons in Canada, two weeks after a gunman killed 22 people in Nova Scotia.

“Canadians need more than thoughts and prayers,” Trudeau said.

He cited numerous mass shootings in the country, including the rampage that killed 22 in Nova Scotia April 18 and 19. He announced the ban of over 1,500 models and variants of assault-style firearms, including two guns used by the gunman as well as the AR-15 and other weapons that have been used in a number of mass shootings in the United States

“You do not need an AR-15 to take down a deer,” Trudeau said. “So, effective immediately, it is no longer permitted to buy, sell, transport, import or use military-grade, assault weapons in this country.”

Registration inevitably leads to confiscation.

It will surprise me if they go line item on the ban, more like the Australian ban on all self loaders would be my guess.

Wonder what the mood is like over at the canadian crack smokers club forum? Are they lockstep in support of their little dictator?
By now they are probably all deputized Mounties and will help go door to door to confiscate.

Probably no different than all the other gun forums that are now owned by the Toronto Star. The media companies own a lot of gun forum real estate these days.

If I read the story correctly, what's really scary over there is that it's done via Executive edict. The legislative branch, Parliament, isn't even involved.

Executive edict is possible when you don't have a Second Amendment.

Did Canada ban police uniforms as well? How about surplus cruisers? Fuel? The Portapique shooter, cop impersonator, and arsonist obtained his weapons illegally, and used at least one handgun. This new law does nothing to prevent future shooters from obtaining weapons illegally. It's control and confiscation, plain and simple.

Of course I'm preaching to the choir here, but still.

The Bill of Rights is useless without a populous willing to defend it. There’s currently no 1st or 4th along with a heavily restricted 2nd.

Exactly. Those pantywaists still have the queen of England on their money...
Do you think they have enough natural resources to make it worthwhile to annex them now and just get it over with?

We could turn it into a giant wind farm and move all the US prisons to the Artic. No fences or walls necessary when it's a 100 mile walk, climb, swim that's somewhere between 32 and -40 most of the time. That would be a deterrent to going.
